Random Thoughts...

Dennis Ciptanica Putra is dead meat!!!!

I was facebook hopping just now and I ended up at frogy's profile. I haven't been to his profile since I first added him as a friend on facebook. He's still with the girl he left me for so they've been together for 3 plus years already? and they're still madly in love. It still stings a little. Don't get me wrong, looking back at our relationship, it was all wrong. We are such different people and we want such different things. Although, I still have the utmost respect for him, he's a good person. Like my grandma said, "your first will always have a special place in your heart".

For all of you who haven't RSVP-ed to my birthday, DO IT NOW!!! Please.

Do not date THIS guy

By Flora McCraith, MSN, Updated: 22/10/2009

Mr Tin Heart

The emotionally unavailable man has been the pitfall of many single women. Yet, he's the easiest of the species to spot. So why do we get ourselves into such a mess with him when we usually know early on that it would sooner snow in Malaysia before you can get him to commit?

“These women really believe that they can change a man's mind about being with them, or they simply make themselves believe they can, because they feel like they have no other choice,” explains Sally Reeves* a relationship counselor.

There's usually a reason why these men can't commit. Your job isn't to figure out why that reason has come to be, but instead, if it's a reason that's actually good enough for you. If it is, then may be you need to look at yourself and ask "why don't I find somebody who is ready for commitment?" says Susan Jeffers, author of 'Opening Our Hearts To Men.'

#1 Playa

He's the perfect lover, makes you feel like you're the queen of his world and that he's perched you high above a pedestal away from any other woman in his sight. He's well-dressed, charming, witty, funny, and his manners are impeccable. He's out to make an impact on the women he makes, and he'll definitely make that impact on you...and every other woman that tickles his fancy.

Every woman will come across at least one of this kind in her lifetime, and while the charm and attention may be extremely flattering, don't be fooled. You know you'll be nursing a broken heart when he gets bored.

Mr Mummy

In Western cultures, any 20something year old man still living under his parent's roof would (almost literally) be laughed out of house and home. While the same concept cannot be applied here in Asia, it's not hard to spot a mummy's boy.

The signs aren't even subtle. He's always going to choose is mum (or aunt or sister) over you. And while there may be times he's hesitant about making that decision, make no mistake, the end outcome will always be the same: Mum 1 - You 0.

What's worse, when things don't work out, he'll believe that the issues lay with you not trying hard enough to get along with his family.

Tan Sri Lambat (a.k.a. Sir Late-A-Lot)

Let's be honest here: the concept of 'Malaysian timing' is just an all too common excuse for us to be late. But the fact that we know there's going to be traffic, yet make no allowances for it, just says that we're being disrespectful. Same goes for a guy. If he knows he's made an appointment to meet you at a certain time, yet can't be bothered to plan around that accordingly, he's pretty much saying, "I'm unreliable, disorganised and I don't really respect your time."

“Every time you break a time promise there is a consequence and you are sending a subtle message to the person you stood up that they are less important than you or whatever you were doing” Karen Kawalec*, a behavioral specialist and counsellor from the UK. "Do this enough, and you’ll strain the relationship you have with this person for the long term. It also says that you aren’t responsible, reliable, or maybe even sincere and honest.”

Mr Office-Is-My-Home

We applaud men with ambition. We applaud their dreams and aspirations and seriously, that go-getter attitude is sexy! But there's a time and place for everyone, and no job needs to be worked at all day, every day.

On the plus side, the workaholic is always well-dressed with impeccable manners and an admirable knowledge of many things. He knows how to make you feel like a real lady. On the other hand, dinner dates (if they hadn't already been cancelled) will usually turn into a solo affair, with you picking at the food while he screams down the phone about some deal or the other.

However, we're not going to relegate all workaholics to the no-fly zone of dead beat men. You'll have to exercise some discretion, and patience, to sort through the ones you can deal with and the absolute no-hopers.

Mr Whiny

This guy's self-esteem has fallen so low, it's almost made friends with the Hobbits of middle Earth. But, he doesn't think it's his fault; it's always someone else's.

Maira*, a psychologist of 10 years says, “as an adult, pity becomes a burden. It's almost endearing for a child to be sucking its thumb and clutching a blanket. For an adult, well... you're not going win a whole lot of admiration among your peers! Pity disconnects you. It disconnects you from yourself, from other people, from your world, and from your won control.”

His constant belief that he is the victim means he's always seeking attention and becomes distressed when he feels he isn't getting what he needs. While some women's overpowering maternal instinct draws them to men like this, eventually, they will get tiring.

Mr Quick Trick

Admittedly, everyone lies. But, this lying leech has an excuse for e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g.

At the start of you relationship, the fibs were subtle. You knew there was something not quite right about his explanation but he backed it up with something solid, so you let him get away with it. But, the more he gets away with, the bigger his lies get.

"It's like he couldn't help himself and was addicted to lying!" says Shauna* of her ex. "I used to believe him at first because they were just little things, but eventually, they became so frequent, and sometimes were even so ridiculous I actually felt embarrased for him!"

The Ex Texter

There's nothing wrong with being friends and keeping in touch with your ex, but too much contact can prove detrimental to future relationships.

“When you continue an emotional relationship with someone instead of letting go, you will usually have subconscious feelings for them or realise that the feelings never went away, which can be damaging to new or potential relationships,” Sally* says. “But, you get a rush from doing it and from hearing back, and it's naughty, yet safe in its own right."

The Game Boy

Nothing wrong with a man and his game console...unless he chooses it over you.

“In the broad sense, it’s (consoles) a substitute for social interaction, or just another outlet” explains Ken Lee*, who works in a computer games outlet. “Computer games represent an individual challenge for men and can be a way of relaxing.”

In a way, gaming to men is what shopping is to women - therapy. But, that doesn't mean we shop all the time. The absolute danger sign ladies, is when he calls in sick at work because (a) he didn't sleep the night before battling zombies or (b) he needs the day to advance to the next level. When that happens, either 'accidentally' trip and spill a mug of hot tea over the console, or, if you fear that may endanger your life lest he rage at you, just leave his keys by the door and leave. You'll be better of for doing it.

My own additions to the list:

-The Addict (drugs, alcohol, smoking, etc..)

-The Perve (ew!)

Unfortunately that rules out 90% of the male species and absolutely every single boy I know!

Just Kidnap My Boyfriend Already!

Tips on how to break-up with your boyfriend

By Flora McCraith, MSN, Updated: 30/10/2009

Ex-Factor

Get in touch with your past boyfriends and get them to come to as many social events that you can think of. With you.

When you run into an old flame at a bar or club, run up to them, fling your arms around his neck, hold his hips against yours and shriek “Oh my God, oh my God, it’s so good to see you! My, don’t you look good.”

Alternatively, join a mixed gender sports team and get your flock of exes and your current soon-to-be-put-out-flame to be on your team. For kicks and giggles, start off the practice with “What’s one thing we all have in common?”

Email error

Sending a text or an email to someone by mistake happens to people a lot, so here is a little gem that will take the ‘dumping’ issue out of your hands.

Pretend that you have been on a date with a guy. Send a ‘thank you for a really great evening last night email’ accidentally to your boyfriend.

He will think you’re cheating, thus starting a colossal row and it will result in him doing your dirty work for you. Voila, it’s as easy as hitting ‘send.’

Shed a few tears

Not many men know what to do when a girl cries and some just get in a complete fluster about it.

Use this to your advantage and cry after sex. In fact, better yet, cry during sex. Blame it on your emotions and the fact that your feelings towards him are totally overwhelming and that you “wuv him very much.” You could then even ask him whether he has any "personal feelings concerning the relationship.”

The baby talk and the crying will have him re-addressing your relationship status in no time.

Me, myself and I

Make sure that everything is about you. Therefore take as long as you like doing your make-up and getting ready, even if he is sitting in the car waiting to take you out for dinner with his boss.

Or, if you really don’t give two hoots, you could be the first woman in history to tell her partner how many men she has actually been intimate with.

You could even go as far as informing him that oral sex makes you gag. With the exception of when he does it, of course. Or fall asleep during sex. Woman find this to be a subtle, yet direct way of suggesting dissatisfaction.

His opinion counts… for not a lot

The trick here is to ask for his opinion but to never actually agree on his advice. For example, you can’t decide what to do for dinner. He suggests takeaway, so you decided eating out; he prefers the red shoes, you go for the black. He says right, you turn left.

The idea here is that he will very quickly see that his opinion doesn’t mean that much to you. You could turn the tension up a notch by getting a drastic hair change and then explain “that you have been thinking about it for a while and the delivery guy at work thought you would look hot with short hair.”

In other words, you would rather take the opinion of a complete stranger than ask his advice.

Are you seeing fireworks yet? We think so!

Adolescent vocab

Shower your daily conversations with as many modern but pre-teen acronyms as you can possibly bear to stand. You actually may LOL (laugh out loud) when you actually find out how much fun this can be in the sense that it is exceptionally irritating for everyone else, and thus your boyfriend.

“OMG babe! You, like, totally need to take a shower.”

*Poof* As if by magic, he’s gone.

Release your inner child

Having the mother of all tantrums every so often is a sure fire way to make your man run for cover, and hopefully out of the door!

Childish, brattish and insolent behavior isn’t liked by anyone and the only people who can get away with it are children, and even then, they are walking a fine line in our books.

Your man will probably look into the future and see these foot stamping sessions as a sign of things to come and bail on you quicker than you can scream or whine “But it’s not fair. Why can’t I have one of those?”, while you still continue to hold the view that ‘men are babies.’

Social butterfly

There is nothing wrong with a bit of networking and social climbing, so spread your wings and become a social butterfly. Why not become the face of Facebook? Which guy wouldn’t want to go out with the most popular girl on one of the Internet’s most popular social websites? Well, hopefully your boyfriend(s) when he finds out.

Send and receive, poke and pester as many people as possible and within no time at all, you will have more friends than Malaysia has people.

Next step, update your status and profile as frequently as you get stuck in a Malaysia jam with things like ‘night out with the girls,’ ‘at the gym,’ or ‘hoping my man never awakes from his afternoon nap.’

He will soon get the message.

Nag

Nag. Nag. Nag.

And nag some more. You will eventually wear him down.

Some helpful parting lines.

“My feelings for you are too strong.” This is an ingenious way of saying goodbye to your man with a whopping ego.

“Let’s get hitched.” Men and domestication don’t often go hand-in-hand so fingers crossed, he will bow out benevolently.

“I need space.” This hints that it is temporary. Of course, you know differently.

B.S excuses and their translations

Why not take some tips from others and use the following lines to ditch your man.

“It’s not you, it’s me” in your mind means: I’m fine, but you’re a royal pain in the backside.

“We are different stages of our lives” in your mind means: You’re beneath me.

“I want to concentrate on my work right now” in your mind means: I want to concentrate on the hot office guy right now.

“My feelings scare me” in your mind means: My feelings are actually nonexistent.

Some of it is quite funny and all of it is really stupid! How about just saying, "I want to break-up with you?". It's the simplest, cleanest, most honest way to do it. I don't even have a boyfriend yet and I'm looking at ways to break up with one :s

Crocs at the gym...

The College Square gym has the stoopidest people inside...

Some work out in flip flops...
Others in denim jeans...
But the worst of all are those who work out in Crocs!!!

Seriously?! I could lift heavier weights than those "boys". Not only do they lift like err nothing but they do like 3 repetitions then take a break.

DIY Spa a la Kimberley

Today was pamper me day, not for any special occasion but just because I felt like it.

I went for my Macroecons tute early in the morning then I took a nap from like 11.30am till 5pm. I made Chinese noodles with carrot, mushroom and chicken for dinner. After debating on whether or not to go to the gym, I decided that I deserved a break from all that cardio. Vendetta was the colour of choice for my nails.

After my nails were painted, I sung songs while waiting for them to dry. I love singing, it destresses me. Although, my neighbours must hate it.

Here's what I did for my DIY spa...
(* represent my daily routine/ - represents something special)
- In the shower, Clarins body scrub (I think this is the first time I've ever done a full body scrub).
* Washed my hair (nothing special there).
* Clarins gentle foaming cleanser for dry or sensitive skin.
- Out of the shower, Kiehls rare earth deep pore cleansing masque on my face and neck (usually I don't do my neck but today, I felt like it). I must say, the Kiehls mask is really good for minimizing those visible pores on your face.
- Washed it off after 10 minutes with a damp cloth.
* Brushed my teeth.
* Toned using my Clarins toning lotion for normal or dry skin.
* Moisturized using my Kiehls sodium PCA "oil-free" moisturizer for the face and Kiehls creme de corps for the body.
* And who could forget my Kiehls #1 lip balm.
- Leave-in conditioner Kiehls hair conditioner and grooming aid formula 133 for all hair types.
* Blow dry.

I feel like a million bucks. Although most of those things are done on a daily basis, those few little extras make me feel like I'm glowing...

God Is Good!

When I logged out of msn, I saw a video from Channel NewsAsia, it was an interview with Carrie Underwood. Carrie Underwood performing in Singapore!! Mum called me shortly after saying that there was a full page in the newspaper saying that Carrie Underwood would be performing at Ion Orchard at 6.30pm for the official opening or something like that.

Carrie Underwood is the reason I love Rascal Flatts! The first time I heard a Rascal Flatts song was when she sung Bless The Broken Road with Gary LeVox on American Idol. Rascal Flatts is my favourite band of all time!!! Natty idolizes Carrie Underwood and I knew it would mean the world to her if she got to meet Carrie Underwood.

I tried my luck with Christopher, Jo and Ian but to no avail. Who was I kidding?? I'm 19 years old, I don't know anyone who knows anyone at Ion. Even if I could find some long line of connections to connect me to someone at Ion, there was only like 2 hours till her performance. So I prayed to the Lord to somehow allow Natty and Carrie Underwood to meet.

I just received a call from a screaming Natty. She got to take a photo with Carrie Underwood and she got Carrie Underwood's autograph addressed to Nathania. Apparently her best friend's mum's friend works at Ion so they all got to meet Carrie Underwood before her performance. Praise the Lord!

Why wasn't I there... :s

<3 My Sweet Escape...

I spend so much money on movies. The funny thing is, I can't seem to remember what the movie is about after I step out of the cinema (ok maybe that's an exaggeration but you get the picture). Sometimes I can't even remember if I've watched the movie or not (but that's after some time). So why do I do it? Why do I spend so much on movie tickets?

Because it's my sweet escape. For 1.5 hours I completely lose myself, I am completely immersed in the movie. I can forget about assignments, deadlines, the up-coming examinations, how lonely I am in my tiny apartment, how much I miss that little girl, everything just goes away for that short period of time.

Sara used to live vicariously through me and all my shenanigans but at the moment, both our lives are so uneventful. So now I live vicariously through the characters in the movies, I feel their pain, their excitement and their joy. I know how sad that sounds but all our lives can't be so exciting all the time right? Now is just a low for me, I'll get out of this slump soon.

I've even started reading. For all of those of know me, it's a well known fact that I was "allergic" to books. "Kimberley Ong reads one book a year" was probably an overstatement. But now, I find that I can lose myself in books too. It gives me another form of escape so I read.

I've just finished reading "Chasing Harry Winston" and "Everyone Worth Knowing" by Lauren Weisberger. I'm actually putting off reading another book because I'm afraid I won't enjoy it as much as those books. That and the fact that I probably should study.

So here I am, waiting for something/someone exciting to pop into my life and take me on a journey...

Congrats to Bryan and Jesslina, they look so cute together.
On Friday at Seven, when she was sitting on the sofa and he was squatting next to the sofa talking to her, he sparkled. He lit up when he looked at her.

I miss that. I want someone to look at me and sparkle. I want to look at someone and be that happy. Completely, perfectly and incandescently happy. Just knowing that that special someone is there makes everything okay.

I remember before Ian and I we ever kissed. It was just before tuition and he was at my house. We were both sitting on the floor next to my bed when he put his hand on my head. He started stroking my hair and I knew he wanted to kiss me but he didn't dare. When he put his hand on my head, I had chills down my spine. That belly flop, exciting feeling when you're first getting close to someone. I miss the feeling...

Of course I like the certainty that comes with a long-term relationship as oppose to the volatility of a new relationship starting out. I like my other half knowing my likes and dislikes from experience and vice versa. I like being comfortable enough around that person to be able to relax and be myself.

Both a budding relationship and a relationship in full bloom have their pros and cons. I on the other hand, have nothing. Zip, zilch, zero! For the first time in my life, I'm single and I have been single for the longest time. Now I can say I've been there, done that but now it's time to move on. This single thing is getting old.

I am by no means lowering my own peculiar standard but I just wish that Mr Right/Mr Right-for-now would hurry up and come my way. So wherever you are Mr Right/Mr Right-for-now, come find me quick quick okay?

<3 Spring Break

Okay so this is long overdue but better late than never right? :)

I was back in Singapore from 17 September till 5 October and it was a good trip back. Here's a brief post on what went on during those two precious weeks.

- Just before I left, I caught Beyonce with Jo, Sara and Michelle.

- Supperclub and Loof with Nat, Andrea, Rachel, Bernice and some of Rachel's friends from La Salle. I went all over Orchard in the afternoon looking for something gold to wear to the supposed gold party, eventually ended up borrowing my mum's top and turns out, NO ONE wore gold when I arrived at Supperclub.

- Kong's birthday dinner at RTC.

- Mum's birthday dinner at the British Club. My bikini bottoms were falling off so I stole Ian's trunks and wore them over my bottoms.

- KP's birthday at Popstar City.

- Went to the F1 with Chris Kuhn.

- I <3 Nick Carter!!!

- Many high teas at Hyatt because I love them so although my ass does not.
- Many meals at Hyatt. The waiter at Oasis knew I always drink fruit punch, that made me happy.
- I managed to change my flight back to Singapore from 27 November to 22 November.
- Watched Fame, Coco Avant Chanel and The Time Traveler's Wife.
- Rushed to the Boss sale but I was one day early. Got it right the next day but the sale was kinda crap.
- Many games of tai tee with Dad, Rachel/Natty/Angelica and Ian. I won all of them!
- Went to the gym with Daddy and Angelica as much as I could. That's the only time I really spend with Dad and I owe it to him to spend at least a few hours a week with him.
- Had lunch at Crystal Jade Kitchen with Suyee and Michelle. We sampled all the mooncakes at Taka's basement.
- Dragged Mum to Taka to buy the durian mooncakes from Peony Jade. We ended up at Mandrin Hotel and we bought like 5 boxes of mooncakes.
- I finally found the white sleeveless ruffled blouse that I've been looking for! Yay me! It's at this new stall in Isetan called The Blouse Shop. I can't believe it took them this long to realize that Singapore needed a blouse shop! The solution to many of my problems!
- My Bakerzin pink champagne truffle mooncakes were sold out everywhere, I managed to snag the last piece at Bakerzin Deluxe at Wisma.
- Mum’s friend’s daughter Kiara came to visit from Sydney. She’s staying in Bali now for mission work so she popped by for a week. Rachel and I took her out shopping a lot.
- Spent a lot of time with my tv because I’m just that deprived in Melbourne.
- I was quite upset when I found out Fashion Bar closed down. I went looking for it at Clarke Quay but I never found it.

Overall, I spent a lot of time with my family. Although, my little sister is such a busy bee, she barely has anytime for her favourite sister.

Life's short so make the most of it.

Ok so back to the song two posts ago...

THINGS THAT MATTER (part 2)

She’s held on to that grudge all her life
And thirty years of anger
Since her dad walked out that night
She thinks of all the moments that he's missed
All the birthdays ballets first dates
That seems too much to forgive
She gets that call that said he don’t have long
She walks in
He starts crying
The past is gone
Things that matter
Things that don’t

Time ain’t on our side
Don’t want to leave this world
With why didn’t I?
Why didn’t I?
Yeah why didn’t I?

Let's analyze this, like literature! The 30 years of her life that her dad missed and all that anger that was pent up inside, none of that mattered. All that mattered was the present, they were re-united. "Time ain't on our side, don't wanna leave this world with why didn't I?"...life is so short, 1/4 of my life has passed already and what have I got to show for it? Nothing. 20 years have gone by so quickly. I remember when I was five years old, I would look at myself in the mirror and pray to God to tell me see what I would look like when I grew up. That seems like just yesterday, and here I am today, all grown up looking at myself in the mirror and wondering how I grew so quickly.

I spend to much time harping over the wrong that has been done to me. I hold grudges till I'm blue in the face. Enough! It stops here. It's not gonna be easy but it has to change. What's the point of holding on to all that anger??? There is no point! I have to learn to forgive. My life will be better and I will be happier, life's too short to hold grudges.

I really don't wanna leave this world with "why didn't I?". There is so much I want to do in my lifetime but so little time. From now on, I am going to do everything I can to enrich my very short life. There's no time to sleep my life away, I am going to get up and get going even if I have to do it all by myself.

Things I want to do before I die (in no particular order):
-Graduate from Uni
-Go skydiving
-Learn to play a musical instrument
-Take up a social sport
-Learn how to do the waltz
-Learn how to cook Peranakan food from my grandma
-Learn to appreciate art
-Increase my general knowledge till Daddy's level
-Learn at least one different language
-See the seven wonders of the modern and ancient world
-Go to Italy and learn how to cook from the locals
-Spend a month each in Greece, Italy, Spain and France (not just in the cities, but all the small villages as well)
-Spend a few months in the US
-Attend Le Cordon Bleu in France
-Get married and stay married till I pass away
-Have two children
-See my little sister Nathania get married
-Set up my own business

Those are the long-term goals but for now, I need to be more adventurous. The word of the day is SPONTANEOUS. Live a little. Just go with the flow, try something new? You never know where your spontaneity can lead you.

I've lived in Melbourne for half a year now and I've barely even seen 0.00001% of what this city has to offer. It's off to the suburbs for me, I'm gonna see all that I can see. Museums, galleries, beaches, gardens, mountains, etc...I haven't seen any of them since I've been here but that's gonna change.

This is the new me, I'm determined to make the most of my life. Will you join me?

My First Real Post In A While...

Hello all! (all probably consists of like Sara and Jo)

As you can tell, I've kinda given up blogging on a daily basis. It's unfortunate because everyone back home can't keep up with everything I've been up to. I think it was Nat or Andrea who said that it was as though I never left because they could keep up with my life through my blog. Also, due to my short term memory, I probably can't remember what I've done and what needs to be done around the house without my daily blogging but alas! I'm way too lazy to blog everyday.

I can actually see myself changing, it's quite scary really. This semester it's like I'm a completely different person compared to last semester. Some changes are good and others are not so good. I think I've become a lot darker on the inside. All twisty and jumbled up.

A little shout out to my little sister. You're so beautiful and talented, everything I hope my daughter will be. It's killing me that I don't get to be there to watch you grow up but I hope you know that you are in my prayers every night. I love you very much because you are my baby sister and Jo can probably attest to that.

Nat sent me an email telling me that she had 47 pairs of shoes!
Kim: Nat has 47 pairs of shoes!
Sara: Are you sure you don't have more?
Kim: No way!
I thought about it a little and I think I have more than 60!!! 28 pairs in Melbourne and wayy more back home. I'm gonna count all my assets when I get back to Singapore and after I work out all the kinks.

The four walls. I've named them Aden, Bart, Cranberry and Dave. They're really not good company at all. I've lived in a house/apartment with people all my life, I've never been alone before this. Being alone is not a nice feeling. Mummy, Daddy, Rachel, Angelica, Nathania and at least one maid, if not two. They are always there, always at home but here, there is no one...just Aden, Bart, Cranberry, Dave and I. Coming home every night I get this awful feeling like a huge weight is being attached to my heart. It just sinks at the thought of those four walls...

I've been listening to this song by Rascal Flatts a lot lately. It's so touching I cry every time (yes, I know this sounds familiar).

THINGS THAT MATTER (part 2)

She’s held on to that grudge all her life
And thirty years of anger
Since her dad walked out that night
She thinks of all the moments that he's missed
All the birthdays ballets first dates
That seems too much to forgive
She gets that call that said he don’t have long
She walks in
He starts crying
The past is gone
Things that matter
Things that don’t

Time ain’t on our side
Don’t want to leave this world
With why didn’t I?
Why didn’t I?
Yeah why didn’t I?

England

Saturday 4 July 2009

It was off to London after breakfast. Mum and I met Uncle Domonic, Aunty Janice, Pricilla and Justin for lunch. Lunch was at this small restaurant in some small lane just behind Harrod’s. Sale e Pepe was the name. An Italian family run restaurant. They have unbelievably good food, so good that we went back for dinner.

Over lunch, Mum told Uncle Dom about the parking tickets she had gotten. Uncle Dom then told all of us about how ridiculous parking attendants are. Apparently they work on commission so the more fines they give, the more money they get. A tree had fallen over on top of a car that was parked in London. The whole roof of the car was smashed and the next day, the tree had still not been removed. That car was issued a parking ticket. Passers by were so amazed that they took photos of it and that’s how the newspapers got hold of it. An ambulance had puller over on the side of a road just in front of a house to pick up an emergency. When the medics came out of the house with the sick person, they found a parking ticket on their ambulance. What a joke!

As I was walking out of Harvey Nichols, this old lady was in front of me. On the other side of the door, this couple was entering Harvey Nichols. The guy was tall, tanned, with sun-streaked hair, dressed in a loose white linen shirt (one of those holiday shirts) and holding his girlfriend’s Gucci paper bag. He opened the door for his tall, tanned, gorgeous girlfriend then he said, “after you” to the old lady and I. OMG! All I could think of in my head was “one day, I’m gonna get me one of those!”.

We intended on driving to Short’s Gardens to get Daddy’s cheese but all the roads were closed so we headed back to Harrods. On our way back, we saw cars jammed head to head and people getting out of their cars screaming. Even the pedestrians got involved. Sara, remind me to tell you about this, it’s quite funny. We walked around Harrods for a while before meeting Aunty Kathleen, Sonia and Uncle Geoff for dinner. After walking around Harrods so much, I think I’m slightly more familiar with it now.

Dinner was at the same restaurant. People watching was interesting. Apparently a famous ex-tennis player came in with his family. Uncle Geoff recognized him. There was this other guy who looked soooo familiar! I swear he was in some movie I’ve seen before. Another old European guy walked into the restaurant with shades on, stayed for about 15 minutes then walked out of the restaurant with shades on, holding a briefcase. Aunty Kathleen thought he was a mafia guy.

As we were leaving the restaurant, we saw a Bugatti Veron. I had no idea what it was but Uncle Geoff was very excited so I took a photo of it. He told me that it costs a million pounds and it costs more money to make it than they sell it for.

The rest of my night was spent packing ☹

Calorie Count:
-Raspberries + chocolate covered cornflakes (breakfast)
-The best lobster spaghetti ever! (main/lunch)
-Profiteroles (dessert/lunch)
-Breaded mozzarella with garlic and anchovy sauce (starter/dinner)
-Veal with a mushroom cream sauce (main/dinner)
-Pannacotta (dessert/dinner)

Friday 3 July 2009

We headed straight to Bicester instead of Greenwich and thank goodness we did! I barely had enough time there! Made it there in a record 1.5hours.

We bought (all in pounds):
-4 Ralph Lauren shirts for me (24.99 * 3, 14.99 * 1)
-Ralph Lauren skirt for Mum (14.99)
-Ralph Lauren bikini for me (44.99)
-Dior pants for Natty (33)
-Smythson wallet for me (106)
-2 pairs of Tod’s shoes for Mum (116 * 2)
-2 pairs of Bally shoes for Mum (89, 59)
-Bally leather gloves for me (49)
-2 Zegna shirts for Dad (19 * 2)
-Zegna swimming trunks for Dad (25)

So much to see, so little time! Stupid jams on the M25 caused us to arrive home in double the time it took us to get there.

I tried on tons of Char’s clothes and ended up borrowing a dress that I really like. It’s cream with a super low back and brown beading in front.

Char, Aunty Kathleen, Sonia, Mum and I went to Chislehurst High Street for dinner. We had Chinese…I don’t know why I go to England to eat Chinese food.

Char and I met Jess, Chloe, Jabber, George and Marcus for drinks after. I’m so used to the Martini bar at Hyatt so pubs don’t quite cut it for me. I have no idea how people drink beer…it’s so gross! To avoid awkward silences, I ordered a glass of Bailey’s for myself. Every time there was an awkward pause, I took a sip of Bailey’s. Can you imagine how many sips I had to take?! Pubs close at 11.30pm so we were back home relatively early.

Calorie Count:
-Cheesedippers (breakfast)
-Club sandwich (lunch)
-Smoked salmon baguette + flapjack (tea)
-Fried rice (dinner)

Thursday 2 July 2009

Mum and I met Aunty Kim for lunch. It took us an age to get to Croydon. I was very very unwilling because I had planned on visiting the antique market at Greenwich. The only good thing that came out of it was that I got to eat my doughballs from Pizza Express.

I texted Sara to call me but she took too long to reply so I texted Jo. It was the funniest conversation…
Me: Hi Serena!
Jo: This is Jo.
Me: I’m just finishing up with lunch so I should be over really soon!
Jo: ???
Me: Hold on, let me walk outside the restaurant.
Then I explained that I needed saving from lunch so I needed some excuse to leave and meeting my old classmate was the perfect excuse.

Mum was being an absolute bitch the whole day. She was soo rude to me yet as usual I sat there and took it because I have to. When is she gonna learn that I’m not 5 anymore???

We ended up at The Glades again. We bought a ton of stuff at La Senza, which was super cheap! I got a bra for 4 pounds and three PJs for 5 pounds each. Then we went to top up our SIM cards at O2. Primark was another cheap shopping stop. I got 8 spags for 1 pound each.

After The Glades, we dropped our stuff back then went to visit Errol and Vanessa. They weren’t home but Sarah gave us Vanessa’s number. We then went to visit Serena and Aunty Pauloo. I remembered how to get to her street but I couldn’t remember which house it was. Mummy remembered which house it was but couldn’t remember how to get there. Thus we made a good team. We stayed to chat for a while.

Serena just finished her first year at med school in Cardiff, four more years to go. Her parents just bought a house up there for her. She updated me on most of our other classmates from Bromley High. They are all over the place, all doing well. Sachin is at Eltham College and he’s heading over to Australia in December for cricket. Boy, he is one good looking guy!

Mum and I went for dinner at Foxes after we left their house. Not as good as I remember but it was fine.

Calorie Count:
-Cheesedipper (breakfast)
-Blackberries & raspberries (breakfast)
-Doughballs (starter/lunch)
-Margarita pizza (main/lunch)
-Cream of asparagus soup (starter/dinner)
-Penne pasta with mushrooms in a creamy white wine sauce (main/dinner)
-Apple crumble with custard (dessert/dinner)

Wednesday 1 July 2009

Mum had the impression that I wanted to go to Lakeside but I had the impression that we were going to Bluewater. We ended up driving to Lakeside then turning back to Bluewater. It all sounds pretty quick but boy did it take long!

Every single thing I say gets me scolded by her. She asks if Angelica will like a pair of shorts then she scolds me when I give my opinion. Don’t ask if you don’t want to know what I have to say! She keeps complaining that she hasn’t bought anything for her other daughters but when I suggest something for Natty, I get a whole lecture about spending too much money. Apparently I keep complaining about her driving (which btw is very bad) but I only ever recall saying once that the car kept jerking (I was trying to hint that she is making the car jerk). She randomly said in the most bitchy tone, “I can’t wait till you start driving because you always criticize my driving”…when in the world did I do that?! Rachel did but I never did. The woman is practically forcing herself to get swine flu! She keeps thinking about it and she asks me 10 times a day if I’m ok! I lie down to take a short nap and she thinks I have swine flu because I’m lying down! She’s like imagining all sorts of things that are wrong with her like “I think I’m feeling hot”, “my throat is feeling sore” and “my body is aching”. Seriously, she is fine only when she stops thinking about it but once she starts, oh boy!

Anyway, she was such a bitch at Bluewater so we ended up going home in a real pissy mood. She called my dad to complain to him about me so I’m probably gonna get shit from him when I get back. She talks in Cantonese as if I don’t know what she’s saying…Hello?? I’m no fool! She twists words. Obviously she never ever does anything wrong right? It’s all Kimberley’s fault because she’s just such a horrid girl.

I’ve given Nandos 2 chances in 2 different countries and I still don’t see what’s the big deal…nothing special to me.

After my short nap, we met Uncle Brian, Aunty Theresa and Jeffery in London for dinner. You know how some restaurants display pictures of people who ate at their restaurant? Tony Blair, Goh Cheok Tong and Jackie Chan were some of the people in the pictures. One picture in particular caught my eye. Jimmy Choo eats there!!! I looked like an idiot taking a picture of Jimmy Choo’s picture. Aunty Theresa said that she’s seen him eating there a few times.

Calorie Count:
-Scrambled eggs (breakfast)
-Pita and hummus (starter/lunch)
-Chicken burger and coleslaw (main/lunch)
-Soup (starter/dinner)
-Lobster noodles, rice plus dishes (main/dinner)
-Fruit and some Chinese dessert (dessert/dinner)

Tuesday 30 June 2009

It was back to The Glades for the third time this trip. Mum needed to exchange some stuff from M&S. We didn’t stay for long because we had to pick Jo up from Chislehurst station. His train was delayed so I went to Josiah’s shop to pick up some fruit salad for Natty. I think the shopkeeper was stunned when I grabbed 10 packets of fruit salad plus a few yorkie’s for Daddy.

Mum left for London while I took Jo on a tour of my old neighbourhood. I showed him my old house plus a friend’s ginormous house and my old school. We then headed to Greenwich park and we had one heck of a time finding the car park. What kind of stupid car park puts a no entry sign at the entrance?!

On our way through the park we stopped at the Queen’s House. After walking through it, I still have no idea what it is. I highly doubt the Queen lived there…it was full of paintings and that’s about it.

I feel like studying in Singapore has caused me to lose interest in a lot of things. When I was younger, I was interested in much more than just shopping. Right now if you ask me what I enjoy doing, shopping is the only thing that comes to mind. What happened to my fascination with British history, especially the monarchy? What happened to my fascination with Greek mythology? What happened to my eagerness to try everything (I even joined cross country in Bromley High and for those who know me, you guys know that I can’t run to save my life)? Walking through this old house with all these old paintings and looking at the stories behind the paintings, it kinda made me miss my desire to learn. One day I will get it back and I will be interested in more than just shopping.

When Jo and I reached the bottom of the hill, we asked a random shopkeeper where the antique shops were. We were told that they all closed down and the antique market is only open on Thursdays and Fridays. Thank goodness I had a plan B.

We walked back up the darn hill and I almost melted because of the heat. I gave away my parking ticket because I overpaid for parking then I keyed in 58 Davies Street into the GPS. Grays is this antique mall that I googled the day before.

Jo and I were stuck in traffic for agesss…I really really don’t like London’s traffic! We picked Mum up first at China Town then we headed to Grays. OMG! The antiques there are sooooo expensive! But I guess that’s expected since it’s Central London.

Mum and I drove back early to cook. Aunty Kathleen’s brother came over for dinner and we all ate outside in the garden. After dinner, Aunty Kathleen took us to the house that Michael Jackson was supposed to stay in during his gig at the O2. It’s this huge ass mansion just down the road from her house. We couldn’t see much of the house because it’s surrounded by thick greenery. Apparently Chloe’s (Char’s friend) dad co-owns a company with the guy who owns the house that Michael Jackson rented. The guy didn’t even know Michael Jackson was renting his house till he read it in the papers. All he knew was that he was renting a house to someone for 1 million pounds and the identity of the person who was to stay in the house could not be disclosed.

Calorie Count:
-Sausages and bread with salmon spread (breakfast)
-Doughnut (tea)
-Steak, potatoes and veggies (dinner)
-Strawberry compote trifle (dessert)

Monday 29 June 2009

Mum and I went to The Glades after breakfast. I can’t stand how they make department stores soooo hot and stuffy. I felt so sick without air-con or windows in the sweltering heat. We bought undies at Marks & Sparks. Couldn’t bear to look at anything else because the heat just made me feel sick.

Popped home for a bit then it was back on the road again. We headed to London and instead of doing all those touristy things, I just took photos as we drove past. Kimberley Ong The Express Tourist!

I met Jo at Harrods to pass him his contacts. We had ice cream at Morelli’s. So far I have tried the berry pavlova, spaghetti ice and the I can’t remember what it’s called (vanilla, caramel and banana ice cream with bananas and chocolate sauce).

Jo had to rush off so I met Mum at the swimwear department. I looked around a lot and after lots and lots of looking at many many awful deals, I came across this awesome deal! Ok well it wasn’t THAT awesome but it was pretty great. I found this Juicy Couture coat that’s too big for me but oh so gorgeous! I felt like Grace Kelly when I put it on.

Mum got fined again for parking, this time she was only 5 minutes late. Maybe next time she’ll be on time…

The Harrods sale is generally still very expensive but if you look hard enough, you can find really cheap things. I found a bag reduced from 34.99 to 1.99 (it was kinda ugly though so I didn’t buy it). Dior wrap reduced to 39.99pounds. Mini Harrods beanie babies 50pence each (Mummy bought 30 of them to give away as party favours during Natty’s birthday).

VAT cheats my feelings…they make it seem like you’re getting the tax refund but the admin charge ends up being more than the refund!

Mum and I had dinner at the Rotisserie. It was expensive and it was good but not great.

Our trip home was the fastest trip I’ve taken so far. 45 minutes in the car. I am so so sick of sitting in the car!

Some of Aunty Kathleen’s friends were over when we got back. Apparently I used to know them but I can’t for the life of me remember who they are. We all sat on the patio eating fresh raspberries while the sprinkler was watering the plants, now that’s something you don’t get to do in Singapore.

Calorie Count:
-Jam and butter on toast (breakfast)
-Prawn mayo baguette (lunch)
-Ribs, beef, duck and potatoes (dinner)
-Raspberries (dessert)

Sunday 28 June 2009

I woke up super early but everyone else wasn’t up till much later. We only managed to leave the house at 11.30am because it took us forever to get the stupid electric car out of the driveway. No one could figure out how to put it on drive.

Traffic in London = NIGHTMARE!!! We only got to the Hyatt at like 1pm then it took us another hour plus to get out of London onto the A41. We only reached Bicester at 3.30pm! We were stuck in the car for 4 hours!!!

Bicester Village expanded, Kimberley gives a huge thumbs up! I wanted so much but obviously I didn’t get so much.
Lets see, I wanted:
-Silver Tod’s wallet (too expensive/125pounds I think)
-Jimmy Choo black satin shoes (no size/108pounds)
-Jimmy Choo gold sling backs (too expensive/165pounds)
-Ferragamo wedges (too expensive/125pounds)
-Limited edition Dior bag (got it! 108pounds)
-Gold Bally ballet flats (no size/59pounds)
-Black Bally court shoes (got it! 69pounds)
-Suede Bally walking flats (got it! 59pounds)
-CK bra (no size/10pounds)
-CK boxers (no size/10pounds)
-La Perla bra (no size/28pounds)
-Amanda Wakely dress (way too expensive but oh so gorgeous!/980pounds)
-Mini Mulberry bag (too expensive/297pounds)
-Ralph Lauren (no time to look)
-Burberry cashmere scarf (no time/39.99pounds)
-Burberry high waist skirt (only 49pounds but no size!)

Since we got there so late and shops close especially early on Sundays, I didn’t have time to look at soo many things!

It took us another 3 plus hours to get back home so that was almost 8 hours in the car altogether. 8 hours of Michael Jackson on Capital FM. This country pumpkin is all popped out!

Calorie Count:
-Butter on toast (breakfast)
-Salted beef sandwich (lunch)
-Dairy milk Mcflurry (dessert)
-Scone with jam and butter (tea)
-Ham, egg and chips (dinner)

Saturday 27 June 2009

THE FIRST DAY OF THE HARRODS SALE!!!

After breakfast, we drove to Aunty Kathleen’s house. She just renovated her house…the bathrooms are nicer than most hotel bathrooms! We dumped our suitcases there then drove to Central London. Quick lunch at Café Rouge then it was off to Harrods. I was so upset that I didn’t get to see Misha Barton (she opened the Harrods sale this year).

Charlotte and I spent ages getting lost in Harrods. It is the most disorganized department store in the world! Everywhere I walked, my head was spinning in ten different directions. There was so much to see! Chanel 30% off!!! Chanel never ever ever goes on sale!!! Not only was the classic I wanted not on sale but it was also not in stock! However, Marc by Marc Jacobs on sale in Harrods is almost as much as it is full price in Singapore. Michael Jackson music played non-stop in every room in Harrods. We were going bonkers! I didn’t even buy anything for myself! All I got was a present for Aunty Grace and a present for Natty.

We had tea at Morelli’s (the same gelato place we were at last time). I had forgotten how good the gelatos were but oh boy they are gooddd! I thought of Jo tagging me as the pink macaroon when I passed this shop outside Harrods. Turns out Aunty Kathleen, Mama and Kong had lunch there a short while ago.

Walking outside Harrods on the first day of the Harrods sale is like a frickin car show! Every expensive car you could ever think of was parked/driving around outside. I saw more Rolls Royce’s in that one day than I have in my entire life!

Next stop Harvey Nichols. I bought two Giorgio Armani lipsticks. For some reason I was under the impression that I paid $80 for them in Melbourne so I was elated that they were only S$40 plus. Later on I found out that I only paid Au$50 for them…what a joke!

Mum got fined because her parking coupon expired 10 minutes before she got to the car. She was peeved…

We walked around Selfridges after that. Way way more organized than Harrods! Again my head was spinning in so many different directions.

You’d never think the day would come when Kimberley Ong is sick of shopping…well, here it goes…I was soooo sick of shopping! The most fun shopping I had all day was at the baking department at Selfridges. OMG!!! They had baking tins for cupcakes in the shape of castles, boats, cars, etc…I’d never seen anything like it! Too bad they were sooo heavy and 30pounds each! I also found the heaviest frying pan in the entire world…I couldn’t lift it.

Dinner was at the Hyatt. For one of the most expensive Hyatt’s in the world, it looks like nothing on earth from the outside. Thank goodness the inside makes up for it.

Charlotte asked for her steak to be medium-well but it came our medium-rare. She said it tasted really good but Mum and Aunty Kathleen insisted that she ask them to take it back. The waiter took it back to the kitchen and he was sooo apologetic…I’d never seen anything like it. Everyone felt really bad. Charlotte then saw the chefs arguing which made everyone feel even worse! The waiter came back to tell us that we would all get complementary tea and coffee. At this point, I burst out laughing and Aunty Kathleen was gonna cry cos she felt so bad.

We made full use of the Molton Brown and soft hand towels in the Ladies.

On our way back to the car, we walked past this apartment on a very very expensive street in London. A house party like in the movies! This big bouncer was at the door with a guest list and one floor above you could see beautiful people sipping champagne on the balcony. Super high ceilings and towering pillars with the most beautiful mouldings on the walls. One day I’ll be there…

I followed Aunty Kathleen back for the night because I didn’t want to stay with Mum. I need my sleep! Between Party in the Park and the Harrods sale…traffic was an absolute nightmare! We were stuck at Park Lane for more than half an hour and it took us like 2 hours to get back.

Calorie Count:
-Pork pie (breakfast)
-Quiche lorraine with warm potato salad (lunch)
-Spaghetti ice (tea)
-Smoked duck with warm potato salad (starter/dinner)
-Mixed grill (main/dinner)

Friday 26 June 2009

I was surprisingly un-jet lagged. Woke up once at 5am to pee then I slept like a baby till 8am+.

Walked around The Glades after I lugged myself out of bed. Mum and I got a SIM card each at O2. H&M was having a sale so I bought a ton of stuff, well not a ton but a few pieces. Books were super cheap so I bought a Gordon Ramsey cookbook for 6.99pounds (it’s probably like S$50 in Kino). La Senza was also super cheap…5pounds for a bra and 99p for panties! The nighty that I bought for Sara and my leaving party was reduced to 5pounds…I was in Sara’s words “absolutely miffed”. Marks & Spencer was our last stop at The Glades. When I walked in, it felt like I was in heaven! Memories came flooding back and oh the food!!! 2 vanilla pods for 2.99pounds! The variety of baking ingredients that I can buy here but not in Singapore is astounding! We bought pork pies, pasta salad, sausage rolls, eclaires, etc…I <3 M&S food!!! So much to eat, so little time!

After we got back to Aunty Minerva’s house, she took us out to Sevenoaks High Street. Quaint little place and yet again, I was in heaven in the supermarkets. We visited Waitrose and Tesco and I wanted to buy soooo much but I restrained myself. I really really miss British supermarkets. You know those Penguin bars that cost me like Au$7…they were 50p at Tesco and Quavers! Oh how I love Quavers!! They are 19.7pence each for the pack of 12…we pay like Au$1.90 back in Melbourne!

We chucked all our shopping back at the house then we went out again to buy dinner. Chinese take-away…I go all the way to England and eat Chinese take-away :s

Calorie Count:
-Prawn mayo baguette (breakfast)
-Cocktail sausages, pork pie, sausage rolls and pasta salad (lunch)
-Rice and dishes (dinner)
-Eclaire (dessert)

Thursday 25 June 2009

I didn’t sleep at all on the plane. The idiot who designed the seats for the A380 is an idiot! My neck was bent the whole time so I had major neck aches! I did watch The Hannah Montana Movie (it was awesome!), Dragonball : Evolution (I liked it surprisingly) and Sunshine Cleaning (supposedly heartwarming but not my kinda show)

We arrived at Heathrow Airport. The landing and parking of the plane was delayed so we only managed to get out of the plane at like 7.30pm. Mummy and I went to get the rented car but they didn’t have the one she ordered. Thus I convinced her to take the Toyota hybrid car instead because it’s the only car that doesn’t need to pay the congestion charge in Central London.

We made our way to Sevenoaks and stopped at this random pub along the road. Uncle Victor came to pick us up from there. His new house is GORGEOUS!!! 6 bedrooms all with attached bathrooms, a cinema room, conservatory, study, living, dining, underground wine cellar, huge kitchen ♥ with a laundry room that is as big as my bedroom in Singapore and separate living quarters for the help or guests.

Just before we went to bed, we found out Michael Jackson died. What a shocker…

I am so glad I get my own room so I don’t need to use the earplugs Angelica gave me.

XOXO

Sunday 31 May 2009

I woke up just in time for church. Unfortunately, I was very late for church for various reasons. Sara wasn't down in time and the tram got diverted. Thus we had to trudge down the whole of Elizabeth Street just to get on 109 at Collins. The pastor from Texas was awesome. He was really funny and oh so Texan.

Aunty Grace, Nadia, Jo, Sara, Claire and I went to Starbucks after church. The museli slice is quite nice. We bumped into Hanson on our way out then Sara, Claire and I went to take-away from stalactites.

I ate dinner then did my laundry. I had a lot of jeans to wash, soo many that the dryer was over-loaded. Vacuumed and wiped everything while my laundry was in the machines. Did I mention how badly tailored my jeans are?? Oh gosh! I'm thinking of taking them back to Singapore to be re-done but I think they might be too short to re-alter...

Calorie Count:
-Beef patty with bread (lunch)
-Museli slice (tea)
-Pita bread and tamara dip (starter)
-Beef patty with cheese and bread (dinner)

Sara and I met Jo at Flinders and we trammed to Aunty Grace's house. Did tutorial 6 of ARA before dinner.

Bert and Eric (Aunty Grace's classmates from her hospitality school) dropped by for dinner too. We had steamboat and Erick tried to teach me the basics of salsa. I ain't got no co-ordination...

Bert dropped us home after dinner. Sara and I changed then we followed Jo to his place so that he could change then we went to Crown for a super banana split. There was this weird ass Chinese mafia guy at Velvetbar. He creeped the shit out of me for a number of reasons...a) he kept giving us creepy looks b) he put his beer on our table even though he was so far away from us c) he ushered this group of girls to sit next to him in a very creepy fashion d) he popped into a photo with these girls who were equally if not more creeped out by him. What's with Sara and always sitting next to creepy guys???

We popped by BP and Macs after our drink then it was back to Jo's house for videos. Only got back home at like 5.30a.m.

Calorie Count:
-Beef patty with bread (lunch)
-Steamboat (dinner)
-Super banana split (dessert)
-Not so deluxe cheeseburger (supper)
-Doritos (supper)

Friday 29 May 2009

I didn't do very well for my ARA assignment :( but at least I did it almost completely on my own. After the tute and lunch I took a quick nap. Sara followed me to my Microecons tute because she missed hers on Monday. Collected my jeans after school. They were not well tailored at all...

I continued to look for flights back to Singapore but as you can imagine, there are no cheap flights that you can book the day before you intend on flying. In the end, I didn't book anything because Daddy said he would cancel my trip to London if I flew back for the sale :(

Made buritos for dinner. Sara and I popped by Starbucks after dinner then we met Jo again at Frank's.

I quit Finance and proceeded with ARA. UGGHHH!!! I didn't understand a thing!!! It was as if I hadn't taken the subject, I was a complete noob! Started off with tutorial 4 because that was when the real work started. We only left at like 2a.m. and I only managed to finish two tutorials. We did have a little fun in between though. Under the table we go!

Calorie Count:
-Left-over pasta with a chicken and mushroom cream sauce (lunch)
-Buritos (dinner)
-Starbucks hot chocolate (dessert)

Thursday 28 May 2009

I was back at the gym on Thursday. After I dropped my jeans off at the tailors...ten pairs of them. Cute guy alert!!! I kinda stole his treadmill because we were both heading towards the same treadmill. After someone else got off their treadmill he ended up two treadmills away from me. Good looking and good smelling :) I like natural scents, without all that awful cologne. My arms got a good workout then it was back to College Square.

Sara and I went to Frank's when I was ready. More Finance...

We had dinner at Chinabar but made a small detour along the way. Guess was having a sale so I bought a dress for $50. Chinabar's food was pretty good but it was also pretty oily which is very typical of Melbourne's Chinese food. I grabbed hot chocolate from Max Brenner's on our way back to Frank's.

We were working, we we were working... :s

Bryan met Sara to study just after I left which was at like midnight. When I got back, Mummy skyped me and showed me the few things that she bought for me at the club21 sale. I was absolutely horrified! A dress that is too small for me, a dress that is too big for me and ugly shoes! I then planned a surprise trip back to Singapore, hoped to leave on Friday or Saturday so I would make it in time for the last day of the sale on Sunday. I was so excited, I couldn't sleep till 4a.m.

Calorie Count:
-Cheerios (lunch)
-Ham sandwich (lunch)
-Soba (tea)
-Rice with chicken, mushroom and egg (dinner)
-Max Brenner's hot chocolate (dessert)

Wednesday 27 May 2009

I got my Finance assignment back. H1! :D After my lunch, I went to the College Square gym because it was pouring and I didn't feel like dragging my sorry soul out in the rain to get to the Melb Uni gym. 20 minutes on the treadmill plus a bit of ab work.

As I was leaving the gym, I passed these 4 boys playing poker in the lounge. They had one of their ipods on loud speaker and you will never guess what song was playing..."you're one in a million, it's once in a lifetime, you made me discover one of the stars above us...". I chuckled to myself as I walked away.

The rain stopped kinda after I showered so Sara and I went to Frank's. More Finance for me. Ugghhh!!! I can't really remember anything...

Calorie Count:
-Cheerios (lunch)
-Ham sandwich (lunch)
-Ham sandwich (tea)
-Digestive biscuit (tea)
-dinner

Tuesday 26 May 2009

After lunch, it was PBL lecture. We aren't tested on week 12 but Sara and I went anyway. PBL was followed by Microecons lecture. Then it was movie time!

I bought a new hairdryer at QV, it's so powerful! Sara and I met Jo at QV then we walked to Melbourne Central for dinner. Sara and I shared pasta at Groove Train. It was quite nice. Night at the Museum 2 was not as good as the first one but it was alright.

We headed to Coles after the movie then home. Tuesday was the day of rest.

Calorie Count:
-Ham & cheese sandwich (lunch)
-Creamy pesto chickpea chicken penne pasta (dinner)

Monday 25 May 2009

After my Finance lecture I was off to the gym. I worked on my legs this time. It wasn't as good as my work out on Thursday because there was this annoying trainer who just had to bring her trainee to the exact spot I was using for lunges and she stepped on my phone! What a b****!

I showered and ate lunch after I got back then Sara and I went off to Frank Tate's to study. I finished up the rest of lecture 2 and I did tutorial 2 of Finance. Cooked dinner back at College Square when I was done with tutorial 2. It was alright but I need whipping cream! It's not the same as thickened cream! More studying after dinner...lecture 3. Bryan joined us too.

Sara and I went for supper after our study session. Pitas and dips at stalactites :D Yum! I've finally settled on my favourite dips, the eggplant and tamara dips!

My hairdryer broke :( I couldn't turn it off after I blow dried my hair...

Calorie Count:
-Kellogs twist breakfast bar (breakfast)
-Soba with a ham sandwich (lunch)
-Mushroom and chicken cream sauce with fusilli (dinner)
-Lots of chocolate (snack)
-Pita bread and dip (supper)

Sunday 24 May 2009

Woke up just in time to eat and go to church. So much for going to the gym. Ok tomorrow I will go! Church was kinda scary today...the pastor smashed/started beating up an umbrella on stage. I'm not judging but it just freaked me out a bit.

Aunty Grace, Nadia, Claire, Sara, Jo and I went for dinner at stalactites (Nat says it's a restaurant and bat caves are full of bat guano) after church. The dips were yummy and the portions were enormous! Jo doesn't like our busking :(:(:(!!!

Lots of laundry and cleaning that had to be done so I set off working when I returned to College Square. Now, it is finally done :)

Calorie Count:
-Ham & cheese sandwich (lunch)
-Pita bread + dip + lamb souvlaki + galactoboureko (dinner)
-Milky way rolls (supper)

Saturday 23 May 2009

Sara and I went to the Myer sale and both of us walked out with nothing. What a miracle! We had tea at Melb Central after our uneventful shopping trip. Tea was pretty good although the waiter was kinda strange. His afro was so big that he stuck a pen (for taking down orders) in his hair.

I met Jo, Aunty Grace and Nadia after that for Day 6. Jo and I were having a competition on who would have the most people say hi to them. I won, hands down! Claire and Kara were there too so Claire followed Jo and I for dinner after Day 6.

Jo called Rachel to find out which was the restaurant she recommended along Lygon. "Along the row with all the Italian restaurants, red and white table cloths and a guy who invites you inside"....that is 90% of the restaurants along Lygon Street!!! We eventually settled for this restaurant where the host was a guy who looked like Santa Claus. He and all the waiters were Italian. Downstairs was super full so they took us upstairs where there was nobody, our own private dining room. The walls of the restaurant had murals of Italy on them. Jo couldn't pronounce tagliatelle la spaghettata so we were all poking fun at him, including the Italian waiter. Yayy!! The pasta wasn't overcooked!!! Finally a restaurant along Lygon that I like! I'll go back there again.

Home after dinner and it was a quiet night for Kimberley Ong.

Calorie Count:
-Ham & cheese sandwich (lunch)
-Grilled chicken sandwich (tea)
-Spaghetti marinara (dinner)

Friday 22 May 2009

I was pretty lost during our ARA tute and we didn't get our assignments back. I tried very hard to take a nap after lunch but something was making an absolute racket downstairs. I can hear absolutely everything from that space they call my bedroom. I pity poor old Dennis who is on the first floor.

I got my Microecons assignment back. H1 but barely. Game theory confuses me...

Met Jo at the State Library after class. First we sat on these seats near the door then Sara came to join us. Jo left to buy an adaptor because he forgot to bring his. We then moved upstairs because it was too noisy but when Jo returned, there weren't enough seats thus we moved to this other room. The chair was shaped in a such way that it poked my bottom plus there was no power plug for Jo's laptop thus we moved back to the first room and we found seats a few metres further away from the door. We did get some work done until this annoying group of three sat down opposite us. Gosh! They talked so darn loudly till none of us could concentrate! We were chased out of the library just before 6pm because they were closing. Who knew the library closed so early?

Dinner at Melbourne Central was gross! Seriously gross! We headed back to the College Square seminar rooms after dinner to continue our studying. Not much studying done there. More video taking and wrestling...I shan't elaborate on that. Not a pretty sight. All in all, I finished going through two lectures and one tutorial for Finance 1. Not too shabby for one day.

We went to Crown after our studying to reward ourselves for studying. Super toblerone <3! All these strangers kept trying our super toblerone :( I don't like strangers trying our drink! This creepy guy wanted to pick Sara up. He said he was married but Jo didn't see a wedding ring.

More singing and videos at Jo's apartment. We only left at like 5am! Oh what a night!

Calorie Count:
-Uncle Toby's breakfast bar (breakfast)
-Macaroni soup (lunch)
-Dumplings + 6" meatball sub + cookie (dinner)
-Spaghetti bolognese (supper)
-Super Toblerone (super supper)

Thursday 21 May 2009

I obviously woke up pretty late due to karaoke. I managed to go to the Melb Uni gym for the first time this semester! I actually intended on going to the College Square gym but the treadmill was broken and people were using the other machines. Thus it was off to Melb Uni. Quite a good work out, focused on my arms, now all I have to do is keep it up!

As I was cooking lunch, I logged on to my email account. I found an email telling me about a sale on designer denim. I called Sara a million times but she didn't pick up! Thus I called Jo and thank goodness he picked up! Made him meet me at Flinders immediately.

True Religion, 7 for all mankind, Joe's jeans, Paige Premium Denim, etc...<333!!! I restricted myself to 3 pairs of jeans. My original plan was to get one pair of True Religion, one pair of Paige and one pair of 7 for all mankind. Unfortunately I couldn't find a pair of 7 for all mankind jeans that I liked. Thus I bought one True Religion and two Paige jeans. Jo bought a pair of Joe's jeans and a shirt, go figure.

I interrupted Jo's lunch so I followed him to eat after the sale. We tried to find this cafe that Sara spoke about. I think I found the right cafe but they didn't have the cheesecake that Sara raved about. I had a very unusual, quite nice dessert while Jo had his lunch (at like 5pm).

Met Shiyou for dinner after I got back. We went to Taste of Asia at Lygon, it was alright. Bryan Xie came in with his friend after we had ordered our food.

Bryan: Hi Shiyou.
Shiyou: Hi
Kim: Hi Kim!
Bryan: OMG! It's Kim!
Kim: Yeah it's me.
Bryan: Omg! You and you, you two together!
Kim: Yeah, we were classmates in MG.
Bryan: I know! But you're like separate friends!!
Shiyou: What?!

He was sooo shocked to see Shiyou and I having dinner together. I bought a ton of chocolates after dinner. The lolly store recently received stock of all my favourite chocolates! Milky way rolls, raisin yorkies, minstrels, fruit salad, etc...!!! I don't think I did much after that...

Calorie Count:
-Macaroni soup (lunch)
-Chocolate and mascarpone cheese tart with pear poached in balsamic vinegar (tea)
-Penang kway teoh (dinner)

Wednesday 20 May 2009

I actually did my Finance tutorial and went to my Finance tutorial and didn't get back my Finance assignment :(:(:(...Although, I might not want it back because I didn't know what in the world I was doing.

I think I took a short nap before I cooked dinner. Mummy's peas with sour cream. The sweetness of peas balanced perfectly with sour cream. Unfortunately, they aren't as good as Mummy's...I tried.

I met Jo at Melbourne Central after dinner and a long long while later, Sara met us. We karaoked till like 3am! Jo's Aunty Cynthia and her friend joined us after a few songs. Oh gosh, we looked like fools! Plus Jo kept videoing us, but I took care of that. After karaoke we took a slow walk back to College Square.

Calorie Count:
-Uncle Toby's breakfast bar (breakfast)
-Ham & cheese sandwich (lunch)
-Oats (lunch)
-Pork chop, peas and roast potatoes (dinner)

Tuesday 19 May 2009

I had a quick lunch then it was off to class. Dragged my laptop to class for the first time. Oh the joys of a mini laptop :) Configured the laptop wireless in between classes. Agency is confusing and game theory is stupid.

It gets dark awful early these days. I don't like the dark :(

I almost thought I had to go grocery shopping alone in the dark but I found Sara in the end. I told Chris to call the cops if I wasn't back by 7.30pm. Bought tons of stuff at Safeway. It was too late to cook by the time I got back so I ate a sandwich and oats for dinner.

Calorie Count:
-Vegetable sandwich (lunch)
-Uncle Toby's breakfast bar (tea)
-Ham & cheese sandwich (dinner)
-Oats (dinner)
-Chocolate (dessert)

Monday 18 May 2009

I cooked fried rice before school. I'm doing a good job of emptying out my fridge. After our Finance lecture, Sara and I went to the music department to find out more about taking Choir as our breadth subject next semester. No auditions and attendance=a pass! I like the sound of that.

The price of student movie tickets increased...boooo!!!! I bought a mirror screen protector for my iphone at Union House. Now I can see myself when I look at my iphone :D

Let me tell you how much of a genius I am...I tried to set up the YMCA internet connection on my new mini hp laptop. I followed all the instructions on the paper very carefully but it didn't seem to work. After a while of trying to figure out what I did wrong, I finally got my answer. Instead of plugging the LAN cable into my laptop, I plugged the printer cable into the laptop. Thus no internet connection.

Well now my internet works and I installed a lot of other things onto that laptop. I just can't figure out why my msn doesn't work. Something to do with the stupid firewall :s

I was supposed to go to the gym but I ended up eating a sandwich then falling asleep. What a way to lose weight! After I woke up, I ate again!!!

One simple thing. One thing that means so much to me, means absolutely nothing to you. So much for "I love you"...

Calorie Count:
-Fried rice (lunch)
-Chocolate covered swiss roll (dessert)
-Vegetable sandwich (snack)
-Porkchop with applesauce (dinner)

Sunday 17 May 2009

It's that time of the month people. Be warned, serious temper tantrums ahead.

I had left-over kway teoh for lunch and I spent the rest of the day in bed because of my cramps. After dinner I did my laundry because that was way overdue. Boy! That was a lot a lot of laundry! Did a bit of vacuuming as well but not much because my cramps would not allow me to.

Yeah that was pretty much how I spent my Sunday, in bed.

Calorie Count:
-Char kway teoh (lunch)
-Fish, potato nuggets & baked potato (dinner)
-Lots of chocolate (dessert)

Saturday 16 May 2009

I cooked char kway teoh for lunch today :D It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. I wanted to go to Toorak because it was like the last free Saturday we will have in a long time but someone slept till like 3pm!!! When someone finally woke up, we went to Melbourne Central to buy movie tickets then we went grocery shopping at the asian grocer.

We hung about at home for a while before heading out again for our movie. Ghost of Girlfriends Past is such a nice show!!! I cried so many times!!! Jo met us at Melbourne Central after our movie. I shall not comment on what happened next but yeah Jo and I walked all the way to Crown.

We went to the arcade and some boy actually won 1000 tickets on the spinny machine!!! The machine ran out of tickets so Jo and I played it after other people did then we complained that our tickets wouldn't come out. A staff member came to re-fill the tickets so all the tickets owed to people came out. We felt bad for taking everyone else's tickets so we looked for the people in front of us who didn't get their tickets and we gave them some tickets. They were very grateful that we returned their tickets. We won a make your own bouncy ball kit and 8 tattoos with 370 tickets.

Velvetbar was soooo crowded so we decided to take away dessert back to Jo's place. Sam wanted KFC so after buying dessert, we headed back in the direction of the arcade to get his KFC. There was this rather strange man at KFC. He was wearing a cartoon shirt and he wasn't being very nice to the KFC staff. We dropped by BP on the way back to Jo's place to pick up milk and water. We decided to take a rain check on make your own toblerone.

Spent the rest of the night making bouncy balls, putting on tattoos, taking stupid photos and singing songs.

Calorie Count:
-Char kway teoh (lunch)
-Fish & chips (dinner)
-Mixed berry cheesecake (dessert)

Friday 15 May 2009

Mummy woke me up superr early to go to Hyatt for breakfast. After breakfast she passed me some stuff and some money then she sent me back to College Square. Oh what a mess my apartment is because of all her stuff. Most mothers clean up their kid's apartments but my mother does the opposite.

I went to ARA tutorial completely unprepared but it was fine in the end because apparently it was quite hard so our tutor would be surprised if we had done it. I took a nap after my tute then I studied PBL for an hour before my next tute.

I've left 3 of my microecons tutes early because of PBL, 1 of the tutes was on Good Friday and I was absent for 1 of them...Sara is surprised my tutor even knows my name. I think she is actually one of the only tutors that knows my name.

PBL was not cool at alllll....

Sara and I went shopping for Aunty Grace's present after school. We went to JR Duty Free and found the perfect present for Aunty Grace! It was this set of 5 mini Bvlgari perfumes and they were the nice ones as well. The sales assistant told us that we could only purchase it if we were leaving the country and that they needed to see our travel documents. I asked him if we needed to show the product we purchased to the customs people at the airport but he said that we didn't need to, all we needed to show them was the receipt. Thus Sara and I travelled all the way back to College Square to get my e-ticket and passport.

Upon our return to JR Duty Free, we attempted to purchase the perfumes. The lady at the cashier was soooo damn rude!!! We stood in front of her at the cashier for agess and she didn't even look at us. She was holding this pair of shades and pressing the same button on the cash register furiously. After a while, she finally acknowledged our presence and the conversation went something like this...

Lady: Do you have ticket??
Me: Yes
*I passed her my ticket*
*She ignored us for a further few minutes*
Lady: Poto id, poto id
Me: HUH???
*I finally got it and I passed her my passport*
*She scanned my passport and ticket and passed me a form to sign then she continued pressing the same button*
Me: Sara, what's this?? I'm not signing something without understanding what I'm signing.
Sara: Let me read it.
Sara: Excuse me, what does this mean?
Lady: You have to come back in one week to collect it. You have to bring it to airport. You cannot open in this country.
(ok well that's not what she said, she said everything in broken english so it took us a while to figure out what she was saying but that's the general gist of what she said)
Sara & I: Huh??? So we can't bring it back now and we can't open it??
Lady: Ya
Sara & I: Ok we don't want it anymore.
*The rude lady grabbed the photocopy and shoved it at us and we walked out*

We then realized that we were screwed because we didn't have a present. It was a mad dash to Myers where we eventually decided on mac lipstick. Kara and Claire met us at Bourke Street and we split flowers for Aunty Grace. Jo met us at Flinders and we trammed to Aunty Grace's house.

We made the strangest card for Aunty Grace on the tram. After writing a nice message on the card, we started kissing it so it had lipgloss marks all over it. I also drew a jalapeno that looked like a carrot and an ice-cream. Jo got us seriously lost from the tram stop to Aunty Grace's house because he was trying to think of an excuse as to why he did not have a present for her.

At like 8p.m. plus, we finally arrived at Aunty Grace's house. Everyone was waiting for us :s After dinner, I was forced to sing a song for Aunty Grace. How embarrassing!!! Ted turned on the karaoke machine and passed the mic to me. My hands were shaking...Jo played the guitar while I sung a rather shakey version of Bless the Broken Road. Nadia sung two songs after that then Sara and I spent the rest of the night singing along to Jo/Ted playing the guitar (without an audience, thank goodness!).

Calorie Count:
-Cheese string (snack)
-Sausage roll (lunch)
-Half a potato with cheese, beef ball, coconut rice, pork and vege (dinner)

Thursday 14 May 2009

After school, Mummy and I went to see apartments in Verve. I like them a lot a lot!! The maintenance fee covers cleaners who come once every two weeks to clean the apartments. The apartments are nice too. Nice kitchen, decent bathroom and windows in the bedroom! I lovee the 2 + study but it's $629,000 :( There are 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, 1 study, a big living and dining area, a separate laundry room and car park space. The 1 + study is $438,000 but it's much smaller and it doesn't come with a car park.

We picked Sara up then drove to DFO Essendon again! Back for the Ralph Lauren sale! Mummy spent $887!!! Only $170 of that was mine! I had a quick lunch after that then it was back to the city to pick up Aunty Grace, Sam, Jo and Claire. The traffic was awful! Mummy was supposed to cook chicken rice but we had no time in the end.

We had dinner at some Chinese restaurant near Aunty Grace's house after we picked Nadia up. Most of the stuff was spicy so I couldn't eat it. After dinner, we rushed back to College Square because Sara and I had to study for our PBL test. I actually did spend the rest of the night studying although I didn't remember much of it.

Calorie Count:
-Ramen soup (lunch)
-Duck, chicken, vege, tofu +rice (dinner)

Wednesday 13 May 2009

Mummy did not like my apartment so she checked herself into the Park Hyatt. Her room was awesome! It had a fire place/chaise lounge/walk-in-wardrobe!!!

Mummy and I went to see another apartment at QV, I was hoping it was a different layout from the other apartment we saw but unfortunately it wasn't. The door was lilac and the view wasn't as great as the other apartment. I went for Finance lecture after that then I met Mummy again. She ordered room service and boy! the mash was awesome!

We met the rudest estate agent after that! She was awful!!! I texted her saying that we couldn't make the first viewing but we would be there for the second one. She called me up to scold me because aparently she didn't look at her phone so she didn't know we weren't coming. It wasn't even my fault anyway! It was Mummy's! I wasn't even interested in those apartment too and I made that clear to her but she insisted that I see them. We met her at the second apartment and while I was paying for the parking ticket, she called me up again.

Stoopid Lady: Where are you?? I thought we arranged to meet???
Me: I'm paying for parking (fool!!!)
Stoopid Lady: Where???
Me: At the parking meter
Stoopid Lady: Oh I see you

There was one other guy from Malaysia looking at the apartment. This girl who was staying in the apartment came down to get us. The poor girl was interrogated by the stoopid lady. The stoopid lady was asking her all sorts of questions about the apartment in the rudest way possible. Shouldn't she as the estate agent know about the apartment she is selling??? Mummy was so offended when the stoopid lady tapped her on the shoulder. The apartment was actually quite nice, it's a loft apartment and it's really spacious. Not a location I'm interested in though. When we were done looking at the apartment, the stoopid lady was like "oh you can go now"!! She didn't even show us to the door!

I studied chapter 7 of PBL in the lounge at Hyatt. A really conducive place to study. We had tea at the lounge then drove off to see another apartment. We had to pick up my stuff from Hyatt after the viewing then we had dinner at China Town. Dinner was alright, nothing great.

Mummy dropped me back after dinner and I don't know what I did after that.

Calorie Count:
-Osso bucco with mash (lunch)
-Siew mai, samosas, smoked salmon, cheese + crackers (tea)
-Fried rice, beef + peking duck (dinner)

Tuesday 12 May 2009

Mummy and Daddy picked me up then we went to DFO Essendon. Mummy entered every store we walked past!!! Everytime Daddy and I turned around, she was missing! They bought lots! I only bought a polo t and sweater for myself. Saving up for London! (I need to keep reminding myself that) The lady at Ralph Lauren only told us that there was a storewide 50% off on Thursday after we spent $700 there!!!

We dropped Daddy off at the airport after getting very very lost. We then returned to DFO because the lady at House said that Curtis Stone was popping by their store. Mummy thought Curtis Stone was Jamie Oliver :s For those of you who don't know (which is most of you), Curtis Stone had a tv show here in Australia called Surf The Menu then he went to the US to do a tv show called Take Home Chef. I used to watch that all the time on Discovery Home & Health in Singapore. We watched a cooking demonstration and without any actual cooking because there was no stove. He signed my cookbook! Then I took a photo with him...I'm shorter than his shoulder :s!

After buying tons of stuff from House, Mummy and I dropped our stuff back at College Square then we met Jo at Crown for dinner. Mummy was so impressed with her free parking at Crown. She somehow got herself upgraded to a silver Crown card. Sho noodle bar wasn't bad compared to the awful food we eat in China Town.

Jo and I went to the arcade after dinner while Mummy played the jackpot machines. The stoopid machine that didn't give Jo his tickets last time still wouldn't give him his tickets so we called for help. The girl who worked there tried playing the game but no tickets came out so she pressed the reset button and all the tickets the machine owed people came out. We got almost 400 tickets from that! We played my favourite spinny game. Jo got 150 tickets then I got 150 tickets. Jo said, "you won't get lucky twice in a row" then I said, "third time's a charm" and I spun it and I got 150 again!!! We eventually accumulated enough tickets to get the silicon shot glass ice cube thing! 1,150 tickets!!! We even had 40 tickets left over to get Jo a mini whoopee cushion!

Mummy thought we abandoned her because we took so long. When we finally returned, she was so relieved. Super toblerone!!! When Mummy took her first sip, the first thing she said was "yummm, can we bring Natty here? She would love this! Oh wait, she's underage". They even played Single Ladies for us!

Calorie Count:
-Japanese curry with pork and rice (lunch)
-Peking duck spring rolls + tempura prawns (starter/dinner)
-Braised hokkien noodles with pork (mains/dinner)
-Super toblerone (dessert)

Monday 11 May 2009

I FINALLY FINISHED THAT DARN FINANCE ASSIGNMENT!!! HOORAYYY!!!

I met my parents at Spencer St DFO. Didn't buy anything! Saving up for London! What an accomplishment!

We dropped Daddy off at the hotel while Mummy and I went back to College Square so I could change for dinner. It took us agesss to get back to the Hyatt because of awful traffic. We met Daddy in the lounge when we finally arrived.

Unlce Ken and Aunty Joanne met us for dinner at fifteen. The pasta was really good but the mains weren't as great. We were too full for dessert and I was falling asleep at the table. My parents sent me home after dinner and I can't remember what I did after that.

Calorie Count:
-Crisps sandwich (lunch)
-Nachos (tea)
-Butternut pumpkin ravioli + beef ragu tagliatini (starter/dinner)
-Beef with potatoes roasted in duck fat (mains/dinner)

Sunday 10 May 2009

Happy Mother's Day Mummy! Happy Birthday Dennis!

Sara, Jo and I woke up super early so we could meet my parents at the Hyatt. I got ready, called Jo many times then I packed a brown bag full of sandwiches and snacks while Sara was getting ready yet I was still down earlier than her. Aunty Joanne, Uncle Ken and my parents were all waiting for us at the sofas when we finally arrived.

My parents rented an Estima so we all piled in and we were off to the wineries. Uncle Ken and Aunty Joanne took their own car so I had space to sleep on the back seat. Wine...how interesting, oh how I love wine... :s Obviously it wasn't a very eventful morning/afternoon for me.

Lunch was at Willow Creek. We sat ouside on the deck, overlooking the grape vines on a bright sunny day. Problem with a bright sunny day is that I was followed by this darn bee, I swear that bee was in love with my sweetness. The food was really good! The seafood was really fresh, my beef was really tender and the chocolate panna cotta was real yummy!

Apparently Natty went to a birthday party one week early so my mum was freaking out trying to get someone to pick her up. Mum spoke to Rachel, Angelica and Natty but none of them wished her Happy Mother's Day. Mum passed the phone to me and I spoke to Rachel.

Kim: What day is it?
Rachel: I don't know!
Kim: What day is it?
Rachel: Urrgghhh I don't know!!!
Kim: What day is it? It's not a birthday or Father's Day...
Rachel: Mother's day?
Kim: Yeah! And you didn't wish Mummy!!!
Rachel: Oh but I got her a present.
Kim: I bet my present is better than yours!
Rachel: My present is thoughtful!
Kim: I got her Versace.
Rachel: I got her a mug.
Kim: HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Our last stop was this chocolate factory. I burnt my tongue on the hot chocolate :( They had the exact same chocolate as Koko Black but for one third of the price. After we bought lots of chocolate, we were off. I've never needed to pee more in my entire life...I almost died in the car!

Finally when we reached College Square, I ran to the toilet like a fool. I then went upstairs to change. Wore my new Versace dress :) It was pretty. When I was done, we piled into the car again and Jo dropped my parents off at the Hyatt.

I followed him back to his apartment so he could change. Apparently Aunty Grace has his garage key so we couldn't get the car into the carpark. We left the car on the road while he ran up to change then we tried to get a parking space at Crown. The carparks were full and the valet was full! Thus we ended up on some highway :s What an adventure...Well, finally we did find parking then we rushed to the restaurant.

The stoopid restaurant wouldn't let me serve my Mother's Day cake to my mum...if I wanted to do that, there would be a $20 per head charge. The cake only cost $27! That would cost us an extra $80 just to eat the darn cake! Not only was I not allowed to serve the cake, they took my ratatouille off the menu! That was the best damn ratatouille on the planet and it's gone! I thought I ordered what my mum had the last time we went there but apparently, I didn't. My mum had whole livers the last time but I ended up with pate. There was sooo much steak on the menu but I was sooo sick of steak so I had the fish.

Mummy finally told Daddy that we are going to England in June. Like I said, Daddy's not stupid, he already knew. YAYYYYY LONDON BABYY LONDON!!!

My parents went off to the casino after dinner while Jo and I left for the carpark. "Please present to the parking attending" was written on the free parking coupon. When we arrived at the barrier, there was no parking attending. Jo pressed the help button and this guy came out. He told us that we should have exchanged the coupon for a ticket at the cloak desk. How in the world we were supposed to know that? I have no idea. He let us off this time and we ended up back on the highway again.

Jo drove to some deserted road because he was going to teach me how to drive. Oh what an experience...

*Kim takes of her Zanotti's*
Jo: Look at the rear-view mirror
*Kim looks at the rear-view mirror*
Jo: Ok, put your foot on the brake
Kim: Err which one is the brake???
Jo: The one on the left.
Kim: I can't see the pedals! I don't know where they are!
*Kim finally finds the pedals with the help of a handphone light*
Jo: Press the break and put the gear stick on drive
*Kim puts gear stick on neutral*
*Jo puts gear stick on drive*
Jo: Release the brake
*Kim releases the brake and we are off diagonally across the road*
Jo: Slowly press the accelerator
*Kim presses it too hard and we jerk*
Kim: AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
Kim: AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH the cops are here!!!!!
*Not only is the car jerking like crazy, it isn't going in a straight line*
Jo: They aren't cops, they are just security
Kim: AAAAHHHHHHHHH policeeeee!!!!!!!!
Jo: Ok lets switch, press the brake
*Kim slams foot on brake, car jerks, we fly forward and so does the cake*
Kim: AAAAAHHHHHHHH frick!!! It's the police!!!!!!!

Thank goodness we didn't get caught by the police! He dropped me home after that and I continued with my Finance assignment after my shower.

Happy Birthday Shiyou!

Mummy and Daddy arrived so I met them at the Grand Hyatt at 11am. We hung around for a while then went for lunch at Lygon Street. Daddy was not impressed...I collected a cake for Mummy at Brunetti's while Mummy and Daddy walked around. After dropping it in the apartment, I met up with them again. Ian met us while we were walking to QV. We looked around at Big W then sat down for a drink. Ian left while we went to view the QV apartment.

I love the location but oh boy was that place run down! If we bought that apartment, we would have to replace the carpets and all the tiles in the bathroom and kitchen, paint the place, change the toilet, etc...I wouldn't call that liveable condition. The guy staying there has one room completely empty...I can't understand why he rented a 2 bedroom apartment.

Mummy and Daddy went back to the Hyatt after the viewing while I went back to College Square to do my Finance assignment. Stoopid Finance assignment!!! So bloody hard!!!

Mummy, Daddy, Aunty Grace, Uncle Mark, Ted, Nadia, Jo, Sara, Ian and I went for dinner at Federation Square. Some Australian restuarant with real Australian cuisine. Kangaroo, emu, wallaby, crocodile, etc...I was boring and I stuck to steak.

Jo, Sara, Ian and I went to Crown after dinner. We went to the arcade and Ian blew $70 there. Sara and I won 4 magic wands, three slinkies and one keychain at the arcade while Ian and Jo played shooting games. Stoopid Ian said he was just going to look at the people playing blackjack but he ended up disappearing for ages because he was off playing casino wars. We had a super banana split, Sara's new favourite drink. Creme de banane, vanilla, kahlua, etc...It was nice!

After Ian had his supper, he sent Sara and I home. I was soooo pooped by the time I got back because I only had a few hours of sleep the night before but I think I ended up blogging for hours instead of sleeping.

Calorie Count:
-Pizza (lunch)
-Cheese sandwich (tea)
-Porterhouse steak with potatoes (dinner)
-Super banana split (supper)
-Wedges (supper)
