Aunty Grace asked us what we wanted to name our kids on Sunday and I completely forgot so Sara said that I should write it down...
Aden - Little fire (Irish)
Armani - From the house of Armand (African)
Brent - Hill (English)
Nathaniel/Nathanial - Gift of God (Hebrew)
Ethan - Firm, strong (Hebrew)
Forbes - Prosperous (English)
Ivan - God is gracious (Russian)
Bella - Beautiful (Italian)
Adrianna - Person from Hadria {Northern Italy} (Latin)
Alaina - Feminine form of Alain->Little rock (French)
Chloe - Verdant and blooming (Greek)
Tiffany - Appearance of God (English)
Cheryl - Beloved (French)
Christina - Follower of Christ (English)
Armelle - Princess (French)
Angelique - Messanger of God (French)
Odette - Wealth (French)
I'm leaning towards Nathanial Armani Ong and Alaina Bella Ong
I realize that my kids names all sound nice but most of the options have no meaning whatsoever

After my only class of the day, Sara and I went to the uni shop to buy the $10 movie vouchers for Hoyts then we headed to Starbucks. It's so funny because Sara sucks at recognizing faces but I am really good at it. A long time ago, during our first visit to Aunty Grace's house, Sara met Ricky. Aunty Grace introduced him and told us that he was from Melbourne University too. There was a slight pause before Sara said "cool!" in the most cartoon like fashion, almost like Goofy. I never let her live it down. Anyway, after Sara ordered her drink at Starbucks, she collected it at the counter and just as she picked it up and turned around, I whispered in her ear, "that's Ricky, the guy who made your drink". Her face went as red as a tomato and I started laughing. Lucky for her, he didn't recognize us.
We had a long chat at Starbucks then we went to Pacific BBQ to take away food for Sara and Claire's dinner. That was followed by a trip to the atm and Safeway. When I got back from Safeway, I cooked rice for the first time since I've been here. My first attempt at a chinese meal. It wasn't too bad but nothing compared to Mummy's.
Another trip to Safeway was called for because we forgot to buy apple sauce for our apple sauce muffins, how smart! We got straight down to business after we bought our apple sauce. Apple sauce muffins with cream cheese frosting and oreo cheesecake! Yum! Cleaning up after making apple sauce muffins with cream cheese frosting and oreo cheesecake, UGGHHH!!!

Calorie Count:
-Bircher museli (lunch)
-Ham sandwich (tea)
-Mini cupcake (tea)
-Rice with beef, capsicum, broccoli and egg tofu (dinner)

I am very curious about who reads my blog. I know Sara, Suyee, Shiyou, Jo and Nat read it but I would like to know who else does.
Whenever I tell Sara that I must blog about a particular thing, I always forget to do so...I really should remember. For example, last Tuesday during our law lecture, the case was Brinkibon Ltd v Sthalwharenhandelsgesellschaft [1983] 2 AC 34; [1982] 1 All ER 293. It was so funny when the lecturer said "Brinkibon and forget about the other guy's name".
After recieving so many uni application decisions, I'm starting to accept that God's plan for me is to stay in Melbourne...
Sunday 29 March 2009
I woke up at 11.30am today because I needed to pee so I went back to sleep after that. Only officially woke up at 1.30pm then I searched for lunch. Found the sandwich Aunty Grace gave me so I ate that then I made scrambled eggs.
Sara, Claire and I met downstairs then we headed to church. We were like the closest to on time we've ever been! After church Aunty Grace, Nadia, Sara, Jo and I went to the asian grocery then we had dinner at this vietnamese restaurant. Sara and I shared sweet and sour pork, chicken with vege and cashewnuts and rice. Although it wasn't vietnamese, it was like a breath of fresh air because all I've been eating is western food.
When I got home, I did the dishes, did my laundry, wiped the table tops, vacuumed the floor, cleaned the kitchen sink and cleaned the shower. I feel so accomplished and pooped at the same time :)

As usual, I was the only person who was awake on time today. We were supposed to wake up at 10.30am but Sara didn't pick up her phone till like 11.15am. Jo woke up at like 11.30am and Sam woke up at like 2pm!
The darn tram refused to stop at the correct tram stop because of the darn F1 race so Sara and I reached Sam and Jo's place at like 12.30pm. We had to hike back to reach their apartment. Sara and I started working on the collage after Jo got back with the scissors and glue. I want my own collage! It's sooo pretty!!
We only left for Aunty Grace's place at 3pm so we reached there awful late! Aunty Grace was very pleased with her gift basket :) All of us were famished when we got there so we ate her stew ravenously. Later on, we found out that it was kangaroo and beef stew so Sara was a bit freaked out. Sara, Jo and I headed to Westfield after lunch. Everything was like closing by the time we got there so we spent most of our time in David Jones. Sara and I bought Giorgio Armani lipstick and it is so awesome! Completely unsticky and smooth!
Aunty Grace picked us up after all the shops closed and we went back to her place to look at more lipstick and eat some more. Jo had to go off to a birthday party so we called a cab and headed home shortly after.
I painted my nails when I got home. It's so nice not to have any work to do :) This evening was a lazy evening, I like lazy evenings.

ARA tutorial was actually really helpful, I learnt a lot from it. After the tutorial, I went home, ate lunch and studied for the darn PBL test. I then rushed off for my intro to micro tutorial....MY CLASSES OVERLAPPED SO I MISSED MY TEST!!!! My intro to micro tutorial was from 2.15-3.15pm but my PBL test was from 3-4pm...and the walking distance between the two classes was like 15 minutes! Thus the teacher asked me to return at 4pm. I had the nicest biscuit at a nearby cafe while waiting for my test to start. Finally at 4pm, I managed to take my test and err well that didn't go too well.
What a relief! This week was awful! Two assignments due and two tests!!! My heaviest week this semester! But it's OVERRR!!!! Whoopeee!!!
I met Jo and Daniel on my way back from PBL and we walked back to College Square. Along the way I saw this guy who looked awfully familiar so Daniel shouted "Hey you!" and I ran ahead thinking "oh shit!". We met Sara at College Square then we walked to Union House but everything was closed so we trammed to Melbourne Central. Sara and I bought nail polish from Napoleon Perdis and it was pretty cheap! I grabbed a crepe that I've been dying to try on the way to the bbq.
Everyone was really friendly at the bbq but I'll probably forget everyone's names tomorrow. Turns out everyone we knew in Melbourne was there. Claire, Dennis, Marc, Jean, Shiyou, Deborah, Grace, etc...We mingled, ate and attemped to play Taboo but got chased out because they had to close up.
After that, we trammed back home and headed to the lounge to play Taboo. Marc, Dennis and Jo against Sara and I. We whooped their asses! LET'S HEAR IT FOR GIRL POWER!!! After Jo left, I saw frogy's ex-roommate so I said hi. The next round of Taboo was Marc and Dennis against Sara and I. Marc made this stupid rule that you have to put the box over your head when it's your turn to speak. The game ended in a tie thus it came down to sudden death.
Marc said sudden death was this game called horse. Basically, it is an imitation game. I had to do something and if he couldn't do it then he would get a H. Then he had to do something and if I couldn't imitate it then I would get a H. Followed by ORSE till we got a winner. My first move was a handspring which he so couldn't do. His first move was some jumping up thing from your back, like in kungfu movies, I couldn't do that. Basically I did a handspring, right split, backward walkover, forward walkover, heel stretch, scorpion, round off, tongue twister, cheer dance, etc...Marc climbed up the wall to touch the ceiling, freeze, nike, clap push up, a dive roll over a chair, some other break dancey rolls, etc...We were sooo pooped by the end of it that we declared it a tie! After not stretching in months, my body now aches in places I never knew it could ache before.
It was the funniest thing though because we were doing all that in the lounge so everyone could see us but we didn't care. If we took photos, they would have come out absolutely hilarious! All those failed attempts of imitation. Too bad we didn't have a camera, darn!

Thursday 26 March 2009
I met Jo at his apartment after school...the boy was still sleeping when I got there at like 1pm! We gathered all the photos in my thumb drive then headed off to Melbourne Central. Nandos is not what I was expecting...my mother is crazy about Nandos but it wasn't all that great. From there, we went to this cosmetics store and I went absolutely nuts! I bought three bottles of perfume, one tub of eye shadow, lip balm and some cream for Aunty Grace.
Eventually we made it to Myer, Jo had to drag me out of the cosmetics store. First we submitted our photos for printing then we headed up to the bedsheets section. I wanted a winter microfibre duvet but most of the duvets were summer duvets so that was just peachy. Jo wanted to buy a duvet cover but he didn't know what size his duvet was..."larger than a single"...how helpful! We found these 1000 threadcount duvet covers that were 40% off so I got all excited. The sales lady wasn't very nice though...she was so reluctant to let me take it downstairs to the intimates section to pay. I'm so used to top customer service that I was so shocked when she was so nasty about it. However, the lady at intimates was very nice about it so that was good. I got two ck bras <3 they are like the same price as the ck bras in Singapore on sale even though they are full price here. Then we went to the cafe cos all that shopping made me exhausted. The eclair was quite nice but the guy at the counter was like not quite there...physically present but not quite mentally. Finally our photos were ready so we collected them and headed out.
Ohhhhhh PRADA!!! PINK PRADA!!!! 50% OFF PINK PRADA!!!! ok so I actually liked the smaller shades better but they were only 30% off and because I am a cheap ass, I bought the large shades at 50% off. Everyone thinks I have a problem but today is the first day in ages that I really treated myself. I've bought tons of stuff in the past month like pots, spatulas, etc...but it's all for the apartment. This is the first time since forever that I've bought stuff that's really for me. It felt like a breath of fresh air, I needed that :)
Took a nap when I got home then I had dinner and tried to do my homework. Eventually ended up copying my homework in Sara's room. I really don't understand :s

After our finance tutorial, Sara and I ate at the noodle place in school. It was the first time I'd eaten in school since orientation. The food was alright but nothing spectacular. Then again, what do you expect from school food? Finance lecture was err "zzzzzzz......".
Sara and I met Jo at Collins after school. Who doesn't love Ikea?! Fun times! The photos will be up on facebook soon. A picture's worth a 1000 words so I'll let the photos speak for themselves. We bought all sorts of stuff for Aunty Grace and ourselves. Sara even climbed into a baby's cot! Jo then followed us back to College Square...we really wished he had a car then.
IF YOU LIKED IT THEN YOU SHOULDA PUT A RING ON IT....we tried to imitate the dance on youtube...it was funny! Dinner at Lygon was nice. I love mexican food, it makes you feel like celebrating! I ate way too much though...
The rest of the night was spent watching cheer videos. I finally got to see my little sister's cheer rountine! It almost brought tears to my eyes :) Angelica's rountine was sooo skanky though, just the way I like it. I also found out that Maria's mum was the make-up artist for them, what a small world!

Tuesday 24 March 2009
I woke up super late so I got ready in like 5 minutes...a new record! After the ARA lecture I went back and cooked pasta with those sausages in my fridge. I can't remember what I did after lunch...I probably spent the rest of the time on facebook or something.
Just as I was leaving the apartment for my next class, I checked my phone which was on silent the whole time. I got a missed call from Jo, Mum and a message from Mum. Mum said "call me, urgent!"....I was like "oh crap!", here comes the credit card bill lecture. I called Mum but she didn't pick up so I called Jo and I was like 45 minutes late for his lunch invitation. Mum then called me back and she sounded so stern. She was like "what exactly happened on Saturday and Sunday?"....I thought about it and in my head I was like "I bought a ridiculously expensive pot..." so I then replied with "I don't know". Apparently she got many messages from Sam and Jo's mum about Sara's mum scolding Jo and Aunty Grace. It wasn't pretty. I kinda froze on the spot when she told me because I was not expecting that at all.
You know how your parents always tell you to think before you act...who would have ever expected one little outing to turn into this??? Sara will always be invited to our outings, we are not going to shun her but it is not our responsibility to make sure she is home at a certain time. We are all adults and responsible for ourselves. My parents are fine with me going out because they trust me because I am responsible. I do my homework, I do my housework and I always take care of myself. We were at Aunty Grace's house till late cos we wanted to be and Sara never once said, "I have to go home now". It's no one else's fault she was out till late so no one else should be blamed for it. Aunty Grace was very gracious having us over till that late.
My parents were quite over-baring till recently. I think parents need to understand that a)They can accept that their kid is gonna do something and they can have the peace of mind knowing their child is safe or b)They can be all anal and their kid will lie to them and do it anyway. Also, instead of blaming everyone else for being a bad influence, look at yourself first and think about how you have influenced your kid. Another thing, I think some parents just scold their kid out of habit, not because there is any purpose to it. Learn to let go, it's not healthy to be so over-baring.
It's actually quite annoying because I actually have nothing to do with this. I knew Sam and Jo and I introduced them to Sara so I am caught in the middle of all this rubbish by default. I'm kinda scared that this will get so out of hand that Sam and Jo's mum will tell them to stop hanging out with us cos it's just too troublesome. I only have three friends here...minus them, that makes one friend. And that one friend's future here is not even certain, if her mum decided to bring her back to Singapore then I will have no friends :( They're like the older brothers I always wanted but never had, I wouldn't want to lose them over this!
I couldn't concentrate during the PBL lecture because of this whole ordeal. I was just going through all sorts of possible scenarios in my head. Most of them turned out pretty bad.
I'm such a genius...I painted my nails before I prepared dinner. I couldn't do anything with my hands for over an hour. I did my finance tutorial after dinner then Shiyou came over to talk cos I was so stressed.

I woke up at 10.45am today to start that darn finance assignment. I managed to finish it by like 1.30pm so yay me! Problem is that I think it's all wrong content wise but oh well, at least it's done!
Sara and I went out to Starbucks to celebrate our first assignment submission. We saw Ted there and Sara had her iced caramel macchiato with extra caramel. I took a nap as soon as we got back from Starbucks.
After my nap, I had dinner, started my laundry and made my home-made pesto to keep for future meals. The basil to pine nut ratio was perfect this time, it's so darn yummy! Washing up on the other hand was an absolute bitch! The sponge can't reach under the blade of the hand blender so I tried using a cotton bud :s plus pesto is super oily so I had to scrub my bowls real hard.
I just finished my laundry like many hours later plus I managed to sweep the kitchen and bathroom floor so at least I will have a clean floor. I also cleaned the sink and wiped the table tops. I am absolutely pooped!
All in all, today was a productive day. Assignment submitted, blog updated, floor swept, pesto made, laundry done, table tops wiped and sink cleaned!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANGELICA ONG!!! CONGRATS ON WINNING CHEEROBICS!!! NATIONAL CHAMPS FOURTH YEAR RUNNING!!! YAYYY!!! NUMBER 1!!!!
As for my little baby sister, I don't care if you got 2nd, you are the best and I love you to bits! I just wish I could have been there to watch you and cheer for you! You are the sexiest little girl in the photo!!! I'm so proud of you!
Now let's get down to business, I woke up and got ready for church. Sara's mum called me and asked for Aunty Grace's number but I didn't have it so I gave her Jo's number. He got a shock when he got out of the shower and answered his phone. I met Sam and Jo at Collins and they were soooo late as usual. I amost missed the tram cos I was kinda blurr. I'm like always late for church and it's never my fault :(
I kept elbowing Sam in church cos he kept falling asleep. After the prayer everyone stood up to sing and he was asleep on the chair! We met Aunty Grace and Nadia at church then we headed to Starbucks to get my pot that I left at their house.
We made our way to the Greek festival at Lonsdale St after that. It was kinda cool despite the awefullest simulator ride on the planet! The only good thing about the ride was that some nice man gave me his ticket cos he was in a rush so I got to ride for free! Sam spent like $50 on food which he threw away cos it was gross. Then Aunty Grace, Nadia, Jo and I went for dinner at Mee Kong. I headed home after dinner cos I had work to do.
I obviously didn't get round to doing my work did I? I mean it's me after all. I spoke to Natty, Angelica and my grandparents for a while. Then I spent the rest of the night singing along to itunes and trying to learn Beyonce's single ladies dance....I look like a chicken!!! Sara's says that means I've got half of the Melbourne shuffle down, now all I need is the robot!

SAM AND JO WERE SO LATE TODAY!!!!!!!! Jo was one hour late and Sam was five hours late! They were so late and it was so hot that Sara got sunburnt waiting for them. Plus there was a protest going on so we were waiting around in a rather dangerous place.
THOSE BOYS DROPPED OUR FRESHLY BAKED MUFFINS ON THE FLOOR!!!!!
We took the train to meet Aunty Grace then we went to Westfield mall <3 It's huge!!! Plus they have Jones the Grocer so I bought my bircher muesli! We did so much grocery shopping and I was sooo tempted to go to David Jones but I resisted the temptation, aren't you proud of me? I did splurge on a very lovely pot though :) Sara said I looked really happy when the sales assistant passed me my pot...only I can find joy in such strange things.
I started making the pizza as soon as we got back. The dough was made from scratch, the tomato sauce was made from scratch, the garlic bread was made from scratch and the pavlova was made from scratch. I started at like 3.30pm and I only finished cooking at like 10pm! Phew! How exhausting!
After dinner we had a sing along session and we painted Sam's nails hot pink! Oh how striking! Imagine four boys and two bimbos singing with two guitars and nail polish! I then taught cheer in the back garden. We were trying to do an elevator but it wasn't a pretty sight...if only I could be both bases and the back spot all at once. Everyone's timings were all off!! Sam is actually not bad at jumps...he can do a toe touch and a pike!
I'm so upset that I'm missing my little baby sister's debut at Cheerobics! I'm thinking about you babe! <3

Class today was nerve-racking cos I didn't finish my homework...which is totally understandable cos I did my graded assignment instead. I keep meaning to start on my finance assignment but laziness always gets the better of me. I am totally stressed!
Sara and I were leaving my apartment to go grocery shopping and the moment I put my hand in my bag to grab my key, my phone lit up. How coincidental...Sam texted and asked us to meet him at Boost Juice. We walked all the way to the other end of Lygon Street only to find out that Boost Juice was just near our apartment so we walked all the way back.
He had the worst hair day I've ever seen in my life!!! Absolutely hilarious!!! We left Boost shortly after to go grocery shopping. I didn't buy all sorts of unnecessary items at Safeway! That's a first for me!
I cooked pork chops for dinner and Sara came over. After dinner we went grocery shopping again to get ingredients for our muffins. I baked apple sauce muffins and Sara washed up. There were yummy and so moist! The icing wasn't that nice cos being the genius that I am, I followed the recipe and not my better judgment.
Shiyou came over and tried to help us with our finance assignment but the assignment isn't feasible so we still don't know what to do. She and Sara left and I started singing to my computer :) I love moments like those.
Shiyou came over again at 2.30am and I lent her my top for her photoshoot in the next day. We talked for a while then I showered and slept.

Intro to microecons lecture was crazy today...I was struggling to copy everything in time. I fell asleep during ARA cos I was absolutely pooped! Sara and I didn't go for swing class again cos we have soooo much work to do! Two assignments and two tests next week!!! I took a nap as soon as I got back from class cos I was too tired to think.
I was supposed to start my work after my nap but I painted my nails while singing along to itunes instead :( That was followed by dinner then Sara and I met up at the seminar room to do our assignments. Dennis joined us shortly after. We took forever to do our ARA assignment but I am quite pleased with the final result. Now all I have left to do is that blasted finance assignment! I really really don't understand and I don't understand the whole referrencing thing!!!
I have come to the conclusion that studying is very very bad for you! While doing all that work I was eating like crazy...like for every one word I wrote, I ate three chips. Ok maybe thats an exaggeration but still! Studying makes you fat so don't study!
Calorie Count:
-Uncle Toby's Breakfast Bar * 2
-Left over beef stew (lunch)
-Much much fruit salad (it's a sweet btw)
-Sweet & sour pork with rice and too much veggie (dinner)
-Munchies (dessert)
-Ritz biscuits (supper)

Today was eventful! After I ended my finance lecture, Sara and I went to the spot for an ARA consult. The tutor was wearing the funniest cartoon shirt, I couldn't help but laugh. I clarified my doubts but as soon as I left the room, I was clueless again!
Met Jo at the tailors and collected my Oh So Cute Dress! We then searched everywhere for a stock pot but to no avail :( Target, Big W, The Reject Shop, NOTHING!!! Aunty Grace and Nadia were in Big W, what a coincidence! I then followed him to Port Melbourne...
Oh Port Melbourne...what an adventure! We didn't know where to get off the tram so we exited at some place called Graham St. Jo asked this stranger for directions and the guy said he had a map in his car so we followed him over to his car. I was very apprehensive so I walked a few steps behind them just in case the guy took out a knife, I could still run away. According to the map, where we wanted to go was in some industrial area so there was no public transport and it would take us 30 minutes to walk there. The guy then offered us a lift to Douglas St. I was even more apprehensive...his car was a red pick up truck and it only had two seats. Jo and I squeezed into the passengers seat and he drove us to Douglas St. He was a good guy after all and he didn't kidnap us :) My first hitch hiking experience!
At Douglas St, the guy wanted to check Jo's id before he gave him the package and I was so scared he wouldn't give him the package cos his id didn't have his address on it. However, he double checked with his colleague and was able to give Jo the package. It would have sucked to have gone all the way there and not been able to get the package.
The smart thing to do was take a cab back and that's what we did. I started cooking my stew at College Square when I got back but I was so hungry that snacks were needed. First I had yoghurt then we made roasted marshmallows! Jo's marshmallows kept catching fire but mine were nice! I completely forgot to turn off the stove after roasting the marshmallows so the fire was on the whole time. Then we made chicken nuggets but we had to wait forever cos my fridge froze my buttermilk! They were tastyy, so tasty I ate like more than 10 of them!
When the stew was done, Sara came over then we ate and watched 'The Mentalist'. Cleaning up after cooking stew is an absolute bitch! After we cleaned up, we went for dessert at San Churro <3 Dessert makes me happy!

Not much to say about today, the day was filled mainly with lessons. Sara and I went to pick up my munchies during my break and we got kinda lost. This lady managed to point us in the right direction without knowing where we were going, amazing! I bought beef for stewing at the butcher and he was nice :)
I cooked dinner for Sara and Claire. After dinner I tried to start my finance and ARA assignments....I have one word for those assignments...WHAT????? I am beyond clueless!!! It was so stressful trying to do those assignments, I was pulling my hair out. I read books, searched the internet, read my lecture notes and tried some exercises but I was still clueless. I emailed Uncle Dom, Aunty Kim and Ian with my finance assignment. Aunty Kim emailed Uncle Graham and Ian emailed his Dad. They all sent back emails with words of advice yet I am still kinda clueless. I really want to go to Aunty Grace's house this weekend but I HAVE to finish my work first!

Saturday 14 March 2009
We were supposed to go to QV market but it was pouring so we took a rain check. Instead, I went back to sleep and when it stopped raining Sara, Dennis and I went to the city to run my errands. I purchased a monthly tram ticket, topped up my handphone credit and bought the latest version of Taboo!
The next few hours were spent lazing around then Sara, Claire and I met Jo at Coles. Let me tell you how smart Sara and I are. I wanted the photos from Sam and Jo's camera thus I brought my laptop out. When Sara saw my laptop, she decided to bring hers out. As we reached the ground floor, we realized that instead of bringing our laptops out, we could have just taken our thumbdrives out. We were too lazy to go up again so we lugged our laptops all the way to Sam and Jo's place. Absolute genius!
My original intention was to make shepherd's pie for dinner but due to unforseen circumstances, that didn't work out. Those boys do not have a potato peeler, pyrex, a potato masher, etc...thus I was stuck and didn't know what to cook for dinner. When in doubt, cook steak! so that's what we did. I shall be nice and not comment about the rest of that cooking experience.
After dinner we played a short game of Taboo and Samuel See is such a cheater!! Jo and I still won anyway, despite his cheating! I love going to Crown at night for dessert...it makes me crazy! Sara and I were dancing and singing all around Crown and we eventually settled for eGusto. My crepes were okay but I wished they were filled with something. Jo's profiteroles were the crispiest I've ever seen! Sam was an ass to the waiters...he stole their tip and asked for a new bottle of water which he opened and didn't intend on drinking.
Dessert was followed by the arcade!!! I <3 the arcade!! But the simulator was spoilt and Sara's mum called so we had to go home early :( I spent the rest of the night uploading photos onto facebook. Only managed to sleep at like 4am!
Calorie Count:
-Scrambled eggs (lunch)
-Crumpet with butter (tea)
-Pate + smoked salmon + sour cream + bread (starters)
-Steak, mushrooms, mash and creamed spinach (dinner)
-Crepes (dessert)
Sunday 15 March 2009
Woke up early for QV market and I managed to buy a whole trolley full of vegetables :s The market is so much cheaper and nicer than the supermarket, I like it! We had lunch there then Sara and I went to the deli at the corner of Lygon and Faraday to buy white wine for our salmon. We originally wanted to try Kara's church but the timings were all wrong.
On the way to church, we took the wrong tram so we were super late! Sam, Jo, Nadia and Aunty Grace were sitting a few rows in front of us during the service so we met up with them after for Starbucks. They invited us for dinner so Sara and I followed them to a restaurant called Little Lamb. I don't like steamboat or spicy food so that was err unfortunate. We had ice-cream after and Nadia was right, that ice-cream is better than Freddo's.
Sara and I studied with Bryan in one of the seminar rooms at College Square after we got back. I used Sara's laptop to do my PBL tutorial which is way over due. That is not my fault though! Who asked them to make a disk that can't run on mac?!
I spent the rest of the night uploading more photos onto facebook. Despite telling Sara that I had done so, she still insisted on uploading the same photos onto facebook and tagging me in them so I had to untag myself from all those photos so I wouldn't have duplicates! What a frickin' waste of my time!
Calorie Count:
-Hot dog (lunch)
-Munchables (tea)
-Szechwan steamboat (dinner)
-Kinder surprise ice-cream (dessert)
-Crumpet with butter (supper)
-Cheesestring (supper)

Monday 16 March 2009
I woke up just in time for the lecture and I actually understood what was going on today...a topic I am very familiar with, credit cards <3! After the lecture, Sara and I rushed to the gym for our familiarization class which was totally stupid!
I needed to buy the software to partition my mac and windows but I was sent on a wild goose chase by the store assistants. I went back and forth from one store to another and eventually I managed to buy the windows software at some shop near Melbourne Central.
The rest of the day was spent doing my laundry, washing the dishes, sweeping the floor and printing my notes. Oh what a life I lead! I think I alternate days...like one day will be productive, the next will be completely unproductive, etc...
I cooked poached salmon and spinach for dinner and Sara cooked soba. Then we met Michelle for dessert at Lygon. Thank goodness Freddo's was closed cos I am really sick of ice-cream and we had really nice chocolate dipped churros instead. Apparently Sara and I are the only two people who haven't made friends...how sad!

Friday 13 March
It's Friday the 13th people! Sara was late as usual so I left without her because I am so sick of waiting for her to slowly make her way downstairs. ARA tutorial was alright. I met this girl on exchange from NUS...I know I've never wanted to study at a local U but I was kinda jealous of her. I want to go home so much that I do actually want to go to local U. I had a two hour break inbetween tutorials so I ate lunch and took a power nap. Intro to micro tutorial was productive. We did a lot of work during that tutorial but the teacher didn't collect our homework which I actually put time and effort into doing! I wasn't mute during that tutorial so that was good!
I went up to Sara's room when I got back and she helped me re-paint my fingernails. Last night was a disaster! I re-painted my fingernails like four times! and I used up half a bottle of nail varnish remover! Yet still it was a mess...I had nail polish on my hands, my desk, my bookshelf, my chair, etc...
Erica came over to collect cheesecake after my nails were done. Then I spoke to Natty and Rachel on msn. Look at Natty in her cheer uniform!!! Damn her skirt is long!
I miss my little baby sister!! It's been a whole month since I've seen her! I had to stop talking to them though cos I had to get ready for Nobu.
It was supposed to be Uncle Mark's farewell dinner but he wasn't there. There was so much hype about Nobu that I was slightly disappointed. Sara kept saying "Britney goes to Nobu!" and everyone else had wonderful things to say about the restaurant. The food was nice, I particularly liked the cod, the wagyu beef with zucchini and surprisingly the crispy oysters but other than that, nothing spectacular. We couldn't even understand half the waiters...you'd think a restaurant like Nobu would hire waiters that can speak English properly, even I could work there!
We had dessert after and Sam's ice-cream dropped on the floor...you should have seen his face when that happened, priceless! Imagine a drunk boy with a rainbow ice-cream that fell on the floor. We walked back to Sam and Jo's apartment after dessert.
Jo was so amused that he could say "I'll write you a cheque" to Aunty Grace, he repeated it a few times before it sunk in. After their apartment, it was time to go home so I cabbed home and that was the end of the night :)

What a day! It's days like these when I manage to amaze even myself! I've accomplished so much today that I think I deserve more of my special shampoo!
The intro to micro lecture today was simple enough. I forgot to bring stationary though so I couldn't really take notes but it was all stuff I've learnt before. The ARA lecturer was in a surprisingly good mood although the subject itself is pretty confusing.
After school, Sara and I decided not to go for swing class cos we had so much work to do. I had my lunch then got started on my homework. First I did my ARA decision making tutorial which took me a while cos I had no idea what's going on. I managed to write two plus pages but who knows if what I wrote is even relevant? Then I did my intro to micro tutorial which was easy enough but I realized that I am so behind on my reading. Apparently what I would usually write three pages on, Sara wrote one word so I compromised a bit and wrote half a page. Shortly after my homework I started on my chores. The dishes were followed by wiping all the tabletops and windowsills and boy! was there a lot of dust! I then vacuumed and swept the floor. Finally I cleaned the kitchen sink.
Upon finishing my chores I headed to the gym since I was already sweaty from all that housework. The gym is pathetic so I didn't really do much there but still, some exercise is better than no exercise so I'm still proud of myself! After the gym I showered then crashed on my bed.
Veggies at dinner were disgusting! At like 11 plus Shiyou, Kara and Dennis all went up to Sara's room to get some of my cheesecake cos there was soo much! Sara, Dennis and I grocery shopped at Safeway 15 minutes before they closed. Now here I am, bored again...
I just remembered a funny msn convo with Nat last night.
Nat: What kind of baking equipment is taboo?
Me: HAHAHAHA!!! Its a game Nat!!!
Oh what a balloon I have become. You won't be able to recognize me when you guys see me in April...I'm huge!!!

Wednesday 11 March 2009
I overslept today too...what's new? I turned my alarm off at 10.10am then snoozed for a while more and when I opened my eyes it was like 10.45am and I was like oh crap! Surprisingly I made it to school on time. Finance tutorial was first and even though I did my homework, I had no idea what was going on so err that was unproductive.
The transition to commerce lecture was pretty useless...they were telling us why it's bad to plagiarize blah blah blah. I found a lot of it unnecessary and too harsh. For example, if you accidentally forget quotation marks or if you paraphrase wrongly then it's considered plagiarism. That was followed up by a talk on how hard it is to paraphrase...which is really stupid! If it's so hard then give us a break! One of the examples was really stupid as well. They gave us an example of a summary "studying skills should be taught" or something like that...why in the world do we haffta reference something like that?! It is actually possible for more than one person to have the same thought? Just because someone else wrote it first doesn't mean they own that thought. Also, having to reference something like when Mcdonalds was founded is stupid cos it's a fact and that fact doesn't belong to anyone! Honestly I see nothing wrong with copying and pasting. Are we as human beings so egoistical that we need to be given credit for every word that comes out of our mouths? Do we need to feed our egos like that? Ok I think maybe I'm just in a bad mood today.
Finance lecture was after that and it was alright I suppose. Sara and I went to the bank after to re-order our pins for our atm cards because the bank is so inefficient! First they forgot to order my card for me so I had to go back and request for a card again, then my card arrived without my pin. I went back like three times to check for my pin and they still won't give it to me! It's been almost a month since I opened my account and I still don't have a working atm card!
After that we went to the bookstore along Swanston Street and I bought my finance textbook. We chucked our stuff back at college square then trammed down to Lonsdale Street. I found the tailor Wayne Cooper recommended and wtf! it's soooo expensive! but I had no choice but to alter my clothes otherwise I can't wear them. We then went grocery shopping at QV and I had sooo much to carry!! I slapped everyone with a mop on my way to the tram stop. One of the bags even broke so everything fell on the floor.
Dinner at Ying Tai (I think that's what it's called) with Sara and Claire...we trudged there in the rain and I got my ass and legs all muddy. The only brightside of the rain was that I saw the most beautiful rainbow, the brightest rainbow I've ever seen. When we found the restaurant there were no tables available so we waited for ages. Dinner was followed by dessert at Brunetti's...word of advice: stick to high fat cheesecake.
I made oreo cheesecake when I got back...cheese is all over my kitchen now. Ugghh more cleaning :( Now here I am typing while Nat is over at Mambo! Have enough fun for the both of us k? Miss you Nat!
I'm so home sick it's absurd! I miss my mummy, my daddy, my Natty, maybe Angelica, definitely not Rachel, my maid, my friends, my Hyatt, my Isetan sales, my bed and well basically I miss my life!
Nothing has gone right today...Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day...

Hello world! This blog is dedicated to documenting my life in Melbourne so all you people in Singapore don't forget me. I should have started it the moment I arrived but life was pretty hectic then so it's better late than never i suppose.
I can't remember everything that's happened since I arrived so here's a brief update. I spent a few days in Sydney with Aunty Kim and Mummy then I flew back to Melbourne. Mummy and I bought everything from a portable air-conditioner to a convection oven to prepare me for my new life. I've had my first week of school...lectures only cos tutorials only start in week two. I'm taking Introduction to Microeconomics, Finance 1, Accounting Reports and Analysis and Principals of Business Law for my first semester. A level results came out and big whoop, I did terribly! Now in more detail...lets start with Friday.
Friday, 6 March 2009
I woke up, had lunch and went for my first tutorial. Intro to microecons is the only subject with tutorials in the first week. I kept staring at this girl cos I thought she was the tutor so I was waiting for her to start the lesson...turns out she wasn't the tutor so she must have thought I was so weird staring at her. The lesson was very light, just introductions and a simple worksheet.
I met Sara after my tutorial and we had one heck of a time scanning my authorization letter and passport to Angelica. Angelica was then told to cab to ACJC to collect my results. Waiting for her call was nerve racking! UGGHHH I didn't do very well!!! Although, I didn't expect much...I actually expected to get straight Us so I did better than I expected but still, it would have been nice to have done better especially for econs. Econs pissed me off!!! Math too but less than econs, oh and GP was a joke!
Sara cooked steak for dinner while I supervised then we got ready for Eve. We took so long to find the damn place so we only reached there at like midnight. I had my first drink that night. Whisky with coke which I barely touched and two lychee martinis. I swear they forgot to put alcohol in the first martini...it was like lychee syrup. I was kinda upset the whole night so I just sat there stoning. Those will be my last drinks though...it's not something I enjoy.
Saturday, 7 March 2009
I woke up, had lunch then went to QV to run some errands. Went to Big W to pick up pyrex and a baking tin but they didn't have the correct size so I got the next best size. They didn't have Taboo either :( Was kinda peeved when I walked across to Safeway and they had what I was looking for so I got that along with some groceries.
Met Sara back at College Square and we took the tram to meet Sam and Jo at Flinders. They were super late so we walked around moomba before meeting them. I set my eyes on this pink pony at moomba and I lost 10 bucks trying to win it. After they arrived, we trammed to North Baldwin for dinner at their Godma's place. Their Godma's house is absolutely lovely, a real homey home!
We went to play at the park before dinner and we took some hilarious photos! I miss being a kid without a care in the world. Running around the playground reminded me of England and all those playgrounds I used to play at. I felt like I was 5 again and for a moment it helped me forget about those stupid results and all the drama that came along with it. I may be 19 but I'm still a child at heart.
Dinner was yummy and we spent the next few hours catching up on our tv time. Since my apartment doesn't have cable, I needed to watch all the cable I could before I went back. We only left at like 1.30am and Sara's mum was sooo pissed with us.
Calorie Count:
-I forgot what I had for lunch
-Gumbo with rice (dinner)
-Mud cake (dessert)
-Sticky date pudding (dessert)

Dim sum with Sam, Jo and Ulynn. I overslept but thank goodness Mummy rang my room phone and woke me up. After lunch we went to church then Starbucks with Aunty Grace, Nadia and some other people.
Jo and I met Shiyou and Erica while Sam went off for dinner. I had to buy a $5 scarf on the way to moomba cos it was freezing! We had a ball of a time at moomba, well at least I did. Lamb kebabs for dinner then it was game time. We tried tons of games that required skill to win my pink pony but we kinda sucked. Finally we found a game where you fish ducks from the water so Jo and I combined our numbers to win the pink pony! Yay! I went on two rides namely, some swing ride and a mini coaster. I froze to death on the swing ride. The fireworks were nice but not as nice as Guy Fawks Day. At the end of the day I learnt one thing, MOOMBA IS EXPENSIVE!!!
I followed Sam and Jo back to their apartment after moomba to grab the stuff they helped me bring from Singapore. Then they followed me back to College Square and we played Taboo! Sam is the worst Taboo partner everrr!!! He gives away all our cards and helps the other team when it's their turn then he says, "don't worry about it, we'll still win." Well surprise surprise, the other team won!
Calorie Count:
-Dim Sum...I can't remember exactly what we had. (lunch)
-Lamb Kebab (dinner)
-Orange squash that cost me $10!!!
-Jam doughnut (dessert)
-Candy floss (dessert)
-Chips (supper)
Monday, 9 March
I only had one lesson from 1pm to 2pm so it was a very easy day. I bought the cutest Wayne Cooper dress, it was like 70% off plus an extra 20% off the reduced price! I have to alter it though cos size 2 was the smallest size left and it was too big...yay me, I suppose. When I got back, I did my laundry, cooked lasagne for Shiyou and Erica, swept the floor, did the dishes, cleaned the sinks and the stove, etc...Although, it's quite exasperating cleaning when 5 seconds after you clean, dust collects again. My apartment is soooo dusty!!! Shiyou, Erica and I went to Brunetti's for dessert and I was a pig! I ate soooo much but it was soo good!!!
Sara came over after that and I marked all the assessment deadlines on my yearly planner. I printed and filed all of my notes and we did our finance tutorial. I felt so accomplished after doing my chores and doing my homework that I decided to reward myself with my special shampoo. I have a small bottle of L'Occitane shampoo aux 3 huiles essentielles (lavender, angelica and geranium) and since its so small I can only use it on special occasions. It is the best smelling shampoo everrr!!!
Calorie Count:
-Fruit loops and milk (breakfast)
-Smoked salmon sandwich (lunch)
-Lasagne (dinner)
-Choco mousse layered with apricot jam and mint mousse, white mousse on choco sponge cake and vanillia cream layered with choco ganache (dessert)
Tuesday, 10 March 2009
Ugghhh my long day! Start at 11am and end at 5.15pm. I was so pleased with my principals of business law lecture though. I felt like I really got something out of it and I understood what was going on. I can't say the same for my intro to micro lecture though...I swear you could hear me snoring in that lecture.
It's cheap arse tuesday people! Sara and I went to watch New in Town at Melbourne Central. Note to self: popcorn and m&ms require you to buy a drink or your throat will hurt! The movie was funny and the kind of predictable movie that makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside which is my favourite type of movie! We popped over to Dennis' room after to pass him our left over popcorn and here I am now, typing this.
Calorie Count:
-Uncle Toby's breakfast bar (breakfast)
-Spaghetti bolognese (lunch)
-Flourless orange cake (lunch)
-English Pear (tea)
-Cold soba (dinner)
-Sardines on toast (dinner)
-Popcorn and m&ms (movies)
-Kraft microwave mac & cheese (supper)
I guess this is the end of my first post. Will keep you updated on my very uneventful life. Miss you all and I love you all very much!

-Dim Sum...I can't remember exactly what we had. (lunch)
-Lamb Kebab (dinner)

-Uncle Toby's breakfast bar (breakfast)
